This is an extremely brief guide, containing little more than what you would easily find if browsing the internet. In addition a lot is repeated between the countries. Hopefully the next edition will be more substantial.

Too little, too expensive. Not worthy bying. Much better choice is South America Travel Guide by "Lonely Planet"!I am sorry.

This book is small and slim, and covers quite a lot of breadth, without a lot of depth. It's three countries in under 80 pages. That said, if you are planning to travel along the South American "wild coast" and need a lightweight, quick, reference with essential information as well as some interesting nuggets of detail (for example on the Ariane space programme), then this is a good choice.It's true that there's a lot more information available on the internet, but it's not always reliable, and you can't always access the internet when you're on the go in some of the less connected parts of the world! The jungle has a seething spectrum of flora and fauna, it has roving tribes of Amerindians, and deep lying villages housing the descendants of runaway plantation slaves from the 1600s who recreated their lost West African civilisation in anachronistic microcosm; it does not have wifi or broadband.

What a great guide to Guyana. I am so excited that we are headed there.

BASIC INFORMATION, COULD BE AMPLIFIED. PROBABLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE AREA IS NOT THAT WELL DEVELOPED FOR TOURISM.

War lange auf der Suche nach einem Reiseführer für Suriname. Da ich auf deutsch keinen gefunden habe, habe ich diesen bestellt und bin wirklich zufrieden. Es ist zwar alles nur kurz und knapp erläutert und keine Bilder vorhanden, aber für den ersten Eindruck und die wichtigsten Informationen reicht es auf jeden Fall.

I purchased this book as my son was going to Guyana for 5 weeks.He has just returned & said the book was really useful & he felt it made his trip "run more smoothly"! It has now been passed on to fellow travelers as a "must" take, no other recommendation needed.

It does have info, but seems very brief, and unenticingly formatted.

Viel zu wenig Information. Reicht als normaler Reisebegleiter oder zur Reiseplanung überhaupt sicht aus. Höchstens für Tagesbesuche, Stopover, Kreuzfahrten o.ä sinnvoll.

Nicht zu gebrauchen - zu wenig Infos, rausgeworfenes Geld.Nicht zu empfehlen!.Aktuell (März 2015) kann man nur den englischen Reiseführer von Bradt Travel: Guyanaempfehlen.
