Dishwasher friendly and kid friendly. I'm so paranoid about the stainless straws as a poke hazard. My father told me of a friend who got a popsicle stick in his throat so I've been wary of stuff like that since I was a kid. But the plastic ones are wasteful and impart a plastic taste in my water - blech. I also don't worry about my preschooler chewing on them like I do with my plastic tervis straws. These are perfect! They're also big enough for smoothies to pass, so not just for water.

I must have bought this over a year ago. We use it for smoothies, yogurt drinks, and for my girls' water bottles. One of my 3 year olds still likes to chew on stuff, but the straws have held up. We still have all four of them and they still look like new. I would buy them again if I need to, but unless we lose them, it looks like we won't need to replace them anytime soon.

These straws are really great, they're fun to use and functional. The only downfall is I can't use them to drink my smoothies as the puréed spinach and greens are very difficult to clean out. But I will continue to use these daily for my daughter and me to drink our water! They've helped me increase my water intake so I can't complain.

When I found out how bad standard plastic straws are for us, I started looking for both silicone and glass straws. Well, I found them and absolutely LOVE them. My family and I will NEVER use plastic straws again.
