Camper silicone tea kettle.. winning
Hi guys I bought this camping tea kettle 3 years ago it just died today. I thought I would just post and give an idea of how long these last. I use mine as a everyday Kettle in my small kitchen in my apartment so I love her I love how she heats up I love how she cuts off when she's done heating up and then she cuts back on when she's reheating again so I think these little kettles are fantastic at the time I bought mine only the teal color was available. I am very happy to see other colors are available now and I will be getting the red one also when I bought mine it didn't have a travel case and I see now they do so I'm very excited about that. So this is a happy post you know all things stop working eventually so not upset about that I just wanted to give everybody an idea of the longevity of the tea pots. Have a great day.! Love this product!

Great for travel!
I purchased this portable kettle after finding that many boutique (and some chain) hotels in Europe do not provided coffee/tea set ups in the room. My husband and I are early risers and enjoy a cup of coffee in our room and this kettle came through with flying colors! Very easy to change to Europe wattage, pack for travel, and fast heating. Highly recommend.

Outside gets HOT
I did not see in any of the reviews as to how hot the outside gets. The bottom seemed cool, but the side of the base will burn you. The silicone itself gets real hot. Handle stayed cool. I bought it for the rv due to folding down and uses little space. Unlike the bigger ones. Heats up in about 4 min. Bigger ones heat up faster for some reason. Will order another one and see if the outside gets hot like this one. If so will still keep. Need one for house too.

Works well
Great kettle but I missed that it offered Dual Voltage 110 V/220 V and used it to warm milk while in Europe. Instantly burnt the bottom of it because it was on the wrong setting. I couldn't get the burnt milk washed out, so ended up eventually throwing out the kettle. However it burnt at the beginning of the trip, and since I had no other way to get hot water for my morning coffee and nightly tea I kept using it with the burnt area and it worked well. I only deducted a star because you have to stand over the kettle to ensure it doesn't boil over. Pretty much as soon as the water starts boiling it bubbles up to the top. But I'll be buying another to replace the burnt one.

Great space saving kettle
Great find! Bought for our RV to save space. It is small but brings water to a boil fast and turns off by itself. Great kettle!

This little kettle is wonderful. I use it for my French press when I'm camping.

I wanted to love this
The TLDR is do not buy this, get one of those stainless steel ones instead.I really wanted to love this. It holds twice the capacity of similar travel electric kettles (555 ml is the perfect amount of heating up cup ramens and instant yakisoba vs 8 oz containers that won't quite get it there in a single boil), it folds up flat for shoving in a backpack, it's cute and tiny... but it just is awful. The handle cracks easily... I bought mine used because I try to buy secondhand whenever possible, but whoever owned this before also came across the same problem I did: the handle is Very difficult to get off from the base, and it creates a weakpoint in the pour handle that caused it to crack. I honestly would not have minded the crack if it weren't for the fact the handle is impossible to get off without proper leverage. My old lady hands cannot push hard enough to remove it.That could be forgiven pretty easily (as there is a convenient tipping tab there) if it weren't for the fact the plastic leeches into the water. You can see a film of plastic. I am Not the first person to use this... this is not the first boil. I washed the device thoroughly, scrubbed it with several scrubbings (in between each boil), and put it through the max amount to boil 4 times... and Still, on the 4th time, the rubber smell and obvious film of plasticy something in the water was noticable. This is not safe to drink out of.As a side note, the base itself is not detachable in any way, and there is no waterproof cover to use when washing the device, so it's just.. completely exposed to water and you have to wait for it to dry off before you can plug it in again. It makes cleaning tricky.I wanted to use this at a convention so I could heat up my lunch and my tea without having to leave the site, and it would have been perfect if it wasn't made out of gross cheap materials. A wonderful idea wrapped in awful packaging. It isn't even 'cheap' to reflect the price so it's extra disappointing. I definitely packed it right up to send back.
