A wonderful read with our grandchild. We love exploring the sweet pictures and the musical rhythm of the words. It is not a storybook. It is not a civics lesson. What is is an engaging introduction to the truth that, with all that may appear different about us, we are all fundamentally alike.Some reviewers object, arguing that not everyone does have 10 fingers and 10 toes, feeling the book should cover all there is to say instead of its more important role as a starting point for conversations with little ones. Not that readers are compelled to stick to the script. (You want to add something? Go for it!)I do, though, at the adorable finish. When read to our personal little ones, they’re fully aware the words are aimed specifically at them.So: a book aimed at little ones—as they get to know the world—that delights in the ways children can be different, while recognizing the fundamental ways in which we’re alike, and concludes with words that bring home the love it’s been about all along. That’s an awful lot for a book to do, and it does so beautifully.

A great little read and love the different babies from different places. Lovely graphics and rhyming great way to count with baby!

PRO:Super cute book, it was way bigger than most of our board books. Only a few pages with limited words, well illustrated and the book is tall. Well put together, seems very sturdy. My little one loves having it read to them. It has a nice cadence. The book also shows diverse kids. I get that some kids do not haveCON:My one and only beef is the end verse. (Paraphrasing from memory here) "The next baby born was truly divine. A sweet little child that was mine all mine, and this little child as everyone knows has ten little fingers, ten little toes and three little kisses on ITS nose." Why wouldn't you say "THEIR?" It should read "on the tip of their nose." That part is always weird to me. I just change it when I read out loud. If you don't know the gender or trying to be gender neutral you say THEIR/THEM not it/its. That's basic English. "It" is a non-living object...

I am an infant development specialist and I always buy this book as a gift for a new baby. Everything about it is charming; from the illustrations to the accessibility for little hands, to the lyrical prose that promotes interaction between baby and parents. The perfect book for our little ones.

Compré varias veces este libro, primero para mi bebé y luego para regalar. Esta es la mejor edición que he conseguido porque tiene tapa dura acolchada y hojas de pasta de cartón. El tamaño también es el ideal, porque tengo la edición de tapa dura y páginas de papel y es muy grande y delicado para niños pequeños.Es un libro muy bonito para bebés y niños pequeños, se lee con un ritmo muy agradable por las rimas y las repeticiones de frases. Las ilustraciones son muy delicadas y acompañan perfectamente el tono de la lectura.

Che sia in italiano o che sia in inglese (versione originale) questo libro per me è un must have da leggere ai neonati e da usare nel tempo come libro per capire che tutti i bambini del mondo, ovunque nascano, qualsiasi sia il colore della loro pelle o i loro usi hanno 10 dita delle mani e 10 dita dei piedi quindi sono tutti uguali. Testo Basato sulla ripetitività come a creare una canzoncina che piace molto. Libro cartonato con copertina imbottita. Consigliatissimo e con un inglese davvero base alla portata di tutti.
