If you use this as your only light the timer will work, however if you try to add it to a real grow set up it will not turn on by itself. (I plugged mine into my 600 watt led with the daisy chain) I was going to use it too add full spectrum to my blurple light and help light the corners of my grow tent. I will say my seedlings love it however it would be much better if it just had a on/off switch ....yes I know it has buttons...but you have to turn it on everyday if you plug it into a timer that say already has a light connected to it to keep it on the same exact schedule...and if your not growing weed I don’t want to hear the dumb comments the light works when plugged in but it dose not have a constant on switch and 12 hour max time so at most you can try to use it to flower a plant but it’s obviously not going to give you good results, now if it had a 18 on hour button you could totally use it for the veg cycle for seeds or clones or even as a booster light for large plants .
