Puppy loved dismembering this little newt...
Well, our puppy loved this toy for the hour or so it lasted... she took its legs off one by one and then gnawed the tail off. Didn't swallow any pieces, but still, choking hazard. Pretty disappointed in how easily she destroyed it. She still loves the body, though. It just looks like a purple turd...

SafeChew???
My 6 month old Chihuahua loved this from the moment I gave it to him but within minutes half the tail was gone followed closely by the limbs! I found pieces of chewed up newt strewn all over the house and in the end had to throw the toy away. I never thought my puppy was a particularly strong chewer and he is even missing some of his molars which recently fell out! I thought this would be great for massaging his bothersome gums while the adult teeth make their way through but unfortunately cannot recommend.

Lasted less than 30 seconds
Within 30 seconds our dog bit the foot off the Newt. I thought maybe it was just a defect so I took the foot away and watched as he ripped off the other foot. He's a little dog...15 lbs and by no means a big chewer. Not-so-safe. : (

Great for my small dog
This chew is great for dogs that are not aggressive chewers. It even has a "light chewer" rating on the package. My Havanese (about 10 lbs) loves this thing. He carries it all around the house. Definitely one of his favorites.
