Holds up well with gouache
I’m learning to use gouache, which is a new medium for me. This sketchbook is wonderful! The paper doesn’t buckle much, but any buckling goes away when dry. It is smooth, not textured, which is what I like. If you like cold pressed watercolor paper you may not like this as much. It also has a pocket in the back where you can tuck in your sketches or swatch sheets.

Good thinner paper, nice cover, no bleed through of paint on pages.
Good paper. Not as thick as I anticipated but good enough for light watercolor works. It's hot press. I'm going to make a watercolor painting storybook with this notebook. It does NOT bleed through even though it is a thinner paper. It's good paper. Definitely something I will purchase again but in the larger size next time to make bigger vibrant paintings. I like that I can tell a story with watercolor in this notebook. Will purchase again.

Great for Intended Purpose
I wanted good quality watercolor paper for small, sketch-pad use. This booklet of sheets fit the bill. I have made two small paintings so far and the sheets have performed just as I hoped, needed, and desired. My intention is to keep these small paintings intact in the booklet, but I suppose they could be cut out, if desired. That might, however, damage the overall integrity of the product. Bottom line, good quality watercolor paper for small paintings.

Love it, but…
I really love this sketchbook, it’s clearly high-quality, and the smooth, nice pages inspire creativity. The pages are long enough though that it can make composition a challenge if you’re trying to fill its pages with mini paintings. Also, it can’t deal with a lot of water before buckling. Dryer gouache or a quick pass with watercolor is fine, more than that though, and you will have hills and valleys. Finally, I’m not sure if it’s the material, or the local weather, but if I try to paint wet on wet, I have to rush because it dries very quickly. In short, I’m enjoying it, but I’ll probably look for a different watercolor sketchbook next time.

Excellent quality!
This sketchbook is perfect! The paper is high quality and takes watercolor well. Also, with the exception of the first two pages, it opens flat which enables you sketch/paint in landscape format without a break. I highly recommend Etchr sketchbooks.

New Favorite Sketchbook
Got this sketchbook because I have so many artist friends that have always raved about how good Etchr sketchbooks are. I recently got into using Arches hot press paper, and have never tried a hot press sketchbook before. The paper is so lovely and smooth. Watercolors looks amazing on the paper. Definitely going to be buying these sketchbooks again in the future!

Quality product
Great sketchbook. The cover is cotton and takes watercolor and fineliner markers well. (Maybe acrylic and gouche too). High praise for Etchr and their products.

Good but a couple flaws im not big on, but it might be user error lol
So all in all it works well with most of the mediums i have used in it but i will say 2 things that bug me the most is 1.) Pencil graphite smudges sooooo easily and 2.) Almost all my erasers except my kneeded one tears the paper so easily no matter what type or how lightly i use them, and the pencil lines will still b very faint and i cant do anything about it unless i were to erase again and take the chance of rubbing the paper too much... Idk if its just me who has this problem or what but im not too happy with those too problems as i do like to do an undersketch and erase mistakes without ruining the paper quality or leaving a smudge i cant get rid of.
