Nice
This is really a nice product, well designed and made. It's definitely a little pricey but there aren't too many of these on the market and you can't go to Walmart to buy one. My 9 year old daughter can now ride with me on the tandem.

Potentially VERY dangerous! Buyer beware
The item worked well for the first three weeks. My wife recently had knee surgery (2) and being on the short side, she needed to shorten the crank length on her exercise bike. It did the job it claimed to, and she was at the bike with less stress on the knees. The flaw in design is the sleeve/bolt combination which hold the item to the crank; it sheared off at mid-stress. Extremely painful for my wife. Unable to contact these jokers on the Web. Extremely dissatisfied. Amazon should 86 this item!

Great product, but not the best weight-bearing screws
I have knee problems, and don't have a full amount of flexion in my knees, and a friend suggested I try something like this to be able to ride a bike. This review is written after about one year of use.It worked! After 25 years of being bikeless, I was able to ride! Yay!However, I live in an area with a lot of hills, and spent much of my time putting the full weight of my body on the pedals. Because of the way these are constructed, that means my full weight was concentrated on a single screw (the top screw in the pictures). This screw is made out of hardened metal, and was able to take the weight for a while, but when I was riding one day, the screw sheared in the middle, and I had to use vice grips to pull out the broken half. I replaced it with a higher grade of screw, and it later broke again. That time, I lost the little metal "top hat" thing that goes between the screw and the pedal mount, an was then unable to find a replacement.I think the break is a fundamental problem with the design--a screw that small simply cannot be made strong enough to take the weight of a full-grown man (~150 lbs). If it were larger, it might be possible, though I haven't found something on the market that is really to my needs. For the intended purpose (adjusting cranks for younger people) I think it would work great, and the installation is easy and straightforward, but it wasn't exactly what I needed.

WRONG PRODUCT, RIGHT SERVICE.
We didn't know there were two (or more) common sizes for pedal holes, 9/16 and 1/2. This product fits the former and our bicycles have the latter, so we could not use the product. Even though we didn't install them, the shorteners looked well-built and suited to the purpose. After learning we had ordered a part we could not use, Rus was the consummate professional, first arranging for a prompt return/refund, and also checking to see if he could find a product that would work for us.

Did not fit
Didn’t fit but tried to charge us a restocking fee. Complained to Amazon and they said they would return the restocking fee they took wrongly btw to my credit card. Crooked company. Amazon was not happy with them
