This review is specific to using this as a downrigger line. A few years ago I needed some new coated downrigger cable for my Depth Raider speed and temp probe. The coating is necessary to prevent RF signal loss. And rather than pay a kings ransom for the Depth Raider product (300' of 150lb test for $55), I subbed in a 300' spool of this 135lb Suflon, saved almost $20, received it the next day and have had zero issues! In fact, this cable does NOT peel and lose it's coating like the "real" coated downrigger wire. And even though it's rated 15lb lower, it's plenty strong, never lost a weight even if dragging bottom. Just be thorough with your crimping and you'll never have a problem. Recently bought a second roll to put on my new downrigger but this review is based off of 3 seasons use on the first spool, so rest assured it works and it lasts!
