Biology for the IB Diploma 2nd Edition

Used !! Terrible , came with tears. Highlighted , circled , some pages ripped out ! Worst part is i payed for a NON USED book . Save your money and print the pdf free version online .

I occasionally use this book for my college biology classes, even after I got my IB diploma. Biology is my major now at UCSD and this book still comes in handy :). The diagrams are clean and simple but have all of the necessary information. I don't like the diagrams in most books because they have too much distracting graphics and colors.If you memorize this book verbatim and pretend you love biology even if you don't, you can get a 5-6 on the HL and SL tests. Its a great place to start even if you want to use other books.As for the actual construction of the book, you might want to get it bound if you plan on doing HL or keeping this book for more than a year or so. Mine is falling apart something awful. It was well-loved :)

I spend a lot of my time designing experiments and doing statistics for medicine but I have not taken a biology class in decades. I grabbed this after looking at my daughter's copy and I am very impressed. It is a solid tool for a quick review of advanced high-school or university freshman level biology. The discussion on genetics covers the fundamentals but it is missing a lot of the modern discoveries (from high-throughput genomics, proteomics and all other -omics). Terms are well defined and sets of facts are shown in easy to digest lists. The figures and graphics are excellent grayscale images. So, this is a a solid (and not too quick) read for people who want to review biology but don't mind missing the state of the art.

I bought this as a replacement for a textbook I received at school as I had lost it. As a textbook, regardless of your reason for purchasing it, it is not incredibly detailed, but it is an excellent guide in terms of what you should know. It does not necessarily expand on all the small terms and concepts as it often assumes the reader should have some general idea about biology, but I find that it is a great tool to study from to refresh my memory without having to read a very in-depth textbook. I would recommend buying this,

It makes sense, but it won't help you understand the concepts. It is an awesome book, this are lines out choosing the most concise way to remember everything, great for studying before the exam covering a large amount of information. But if you're looking to understand the concepts, go get a companion book or a good text book for IB Biology like Pearson's.

This book was very helpful with my IB Biology class. I found out that my teacher basically gets her test problems off of this book. It summarizes basic concepts of IB Biology as well as introduces in-depth knowledge that IB students are expected to know.

great and useful, but you still need to have the course companion.. recommended for SL AND HL. Lots of images and past paper questions for each topic. Shipping fast and excellent arrival conditionals.

As a SL IB student: Get this book!I'm not sure how good it would be for HL students but for me it has been an absolute dream. It seems to follow everything that the syllabus says and does not waffle on but gets straight to the point which saves having to try and cut out all the stuff you do not need when revising!I would really recommend this to anyone doing SL Biology!

After finishing the IB, the book was overall okay. It does not cover all aspects of the higher level syllabus and is often brief in some places. The diagrams are simple and the book is useful as a quick reference or to recap previous revision. This book is not sufficient for sole revision and other text books such as Pearson Baccalaureate Higher Level Biology would be recommended. The book is also overpriced with regards to the concise information it delivers.

Highly recommended for revision purposes, once you have actually learn the content, very helpful in consolidating and reviewing everything to the run up of exams.

This is a perfect book which helps you for studying for your tests and exams. everything is in there in a well explained way, there are no useless details! Everything is straight to the point!
