Arrive well packaged tube and the tree looks very healthy.
The tree came in the tube, well packaged. The roots were protected with extra padding. It looks very healthy and looks good to plant in the ground right away. But we just had snow 2 days ago and had to cover my vegetable garden with tarps and blankets to protect the vegetables that are just starting to show growth. (It's mid-May and we had snow) So, just to be safe, I have this tree in the pot indoor right now. I will be planting this tree outside when the weather is more stable, maybe in 2 weeks or so.The product description said it's about 10" tall, but my Redwood was about 2 feet tall. This tree is supposed to be fast growing and I can't wait to watch it grow.Update (July 2014):It's been about a month now and it grew about 12" and I see few new branches. It is rooted well in the ground and very healthy.I am very happy with my purchase. Local Nursery sells same tree, 1 years old for $199.00 and I almost purchase it from them. I am glad I got this little tree. It's fun to watch it grow. :)Update (Sept 2015)This tree survived brutal Chicago winter and growing really well. Now it is about 4 feet tall. I had to moved the tree to different location early this year, but it didn't get sick too much. If I didn't re-locate this tree, it may have even grow taller, but it's healthy, so I am happy.Update (Oct 21, 2015)Soon, I have to get ready for the winter again. I think this tree is now rooted and may not need protection. But, I may cover the bottom of the trunk with something for the winter. It's been just over a year since I plant this in the ground when it was about 2 feet tall. Now, it is about 4-1/2 feet tall and still healthy. If anyone looking for good looking tree to fill the area, I recommend this tree without any hesitation. I upload photos in this update. I took picture facing the morning sun, so it didn't come out well, but it still shows how healthy and tall this tree is looking now.Update (July 7, 2016)I am so proud that I can actually grow tree from a tiny 1 foot tall seedling without killing it, especially in harsh weather condition like we have in Chicago area. This spring, my husband wanted to move this tree about 3 feet to the left before it gets too big. So, we did. I also cut many branches at the lower part of the trunk to shape the tree around same time. So, I was worry it won't do well, but, this tree did very well. I plant this on June 2014, so after just 2 years, not only it survived really harsh winter we had last year and relocate once early this year, it is now 6 feet tall young tree and it's very healthy.I am enjoying the process of growing this tree and that is why I keep coming back to updating my review to show the progress. If anyone likes to grow tree and have a little patience and time, I recommend this "Redwood". It's pretty much maintenance free, easy to care for it. First year, I make sure it gets plenty of water. But, 2nd year, I didn't do any extra watering. Just let the mother nature took care of the watering the tree. It really is lovely tree and I can wait till it gets big.

Healthy roots
It has height. Wasn't crushed. Has greenery. Upon arrival I quickly potted and watered. Responding beautifully. Can't wait until it is old enough to go outside. Very happy with my purchase. Already have my eye on another tree from this company.

Growing fine, but the image is highly optimistic
I received 6 plants, two of which were not in great condition. Vendor quickly replaced them at no cost. All are growing fine, although the 2 problem plants are clearly "slower" than the replacements.Note that the pix is not what you will get. Plant will be one stem with buds on the single stem, no branches. This is only an issue because if a branch breaks off a bud is likely to form, but if you gift this and someone breaks the buds on the single stem, a bud will NOT form at the break! My guess is that the vendor found there were SHIPPING complexities as the much larger diameter of the single stick-with-buds is much smaller than the item shown, allowing for much lower cost shipping, possibly with less broken branches on delivery? The vendor does sell larger plants that look like the picture, but not on Amazon.

Extremely Disappointed
Extremely disappointed. When I received it, it looked like a dead stick. I assumed it was just shipped dormant. When I ordered one years ago, it looked about the same when I received it ( it's now over 30'). I went ahead planted it and took care of it. Well, we're now 5 months out. It's still nothing but a dead stick. Of course, by the time I realized this, It's way past the 3 months to be able to do anything.

Unbelievable beautifull rare tree
I bought one in late fall last year, a 6" stick going into dormant state. I planted it in a 7" pot of moisture control potting soil, a TSP of high nitrogen fertilizer pellets on top of soil with 1" of mulch on top and plenty of water in growing months, spring to fall, otherwise just moist.Since this spring it has grown to 20" tall 15" diameter width of branches and still growing strong. 9/10/16 in northern Michigan.I had it setting to where it got sun in the morning, but I read it loves sun as well as water and will grow 3 to 5 feet a year.Next year I will put it in a much bigger pot and put it in full sun, then in the following year I will plant outside in yard.I also read this tree will adapt to almost any weather condition when more mature, but will flourish in moist soil.I can't wait till fall to see its golden foliage.I am getting 10 more of them, 2 for outside planting, 6 for a bonsai forest and 2 more for single bonsai. These are a very rare and beautiful tree that deserves to be spread around the world.Buy 1 or more if you have the property outside for growing. For what this tree cost and as fast as it grows you will not regret it and the planet deserves it.
