Great for beginners, but bring your patience!
let me start by saying I am a beginner and this is the 1st time I've tried polygel nails. I normally have acrylic nails done at the salon. Due to the current situation I decided to try to do my own nails. I started by trying to do tips with the nail dip powder that I got at the drugstore. Not bad, but not very durable. So I did research on internet, amazon, YouTube etc and settled on these. What I Iiked about this is everything came in the package, except uv/led light which I bought separate. I have some experience (with gel nails from Sally's)... but not using dual forms or polygel. For starters, this is great for beginners like me. It definitely takes some time and practice to get the hang if it. It took some time and effort to get accustomed to the consistency and how to work with it. But with patience and trial and error I figured it out. Also YouTube videos helped. On my 1st hand (left) I didnt do it thick enough and pushed down too hard on the dual forms which caused seeping out at the cuticle and underneatch the nail. By the time I finished this hand I almost had it figured out. When I did my right hand, I did it thicker and I adjusted the pressure I was putting on the dual forms so there was less seeping. Dual forms popped off easily. I cured each nail 2 mins. Then flipped over my hand and did 30 seconds on other side. My natural nails were really short and so I had to learn how to put the right amount of gel at the "apex" of the nail for strength and to prevent breaking. *side note- two of them broke while doing dishes about an hour after doing them and I had to redo by making apex thicker... once I learned this lesson I went back and added gel to a few of the others that looked like they might have same issue*. I would definitely recommend using an E-Drill to save time, but the file that comes with it works great and is pretty sturdy too. Overall it took me about 3 hours, then another hour to do some repairs and finish up. I am very happy with final results. Yes it took time and patience, but doesn't any new skill you are trying? Gel is pretty hard, I found even though some reviews said this gel is softer than other brands. I found I had to use alot of the slip solutio., but maybe alcohol might work better? Below are before and after pics. I used gel number 005. Love the color too! On a final note... these do not remove easily. For the 2 I had to repair... I had to file, soak in acetone 10 mins., file, soak, file, soak... repeatedly. These are not just "soak off" gels. I will update review in a couple weeks. Hoping these will last at least 2 weeks or more.

Watch tons of videos before buying! Know what is necessary for longevity!
So before buying this product I looked at a lot of reviews. This is my absolute first time with any nail product like this. I also watched TONS of videos on gel nails. In some reviews they had said that the polygel had black specks. That is true. They're VERY tiny black specks sometimes in only one color so far and that is the 006 shade. I did mine and my sister's nails the day this came in the mails. I used 003 on myself and 006 on her. On my nails I did my pointer and thumb on both hands with nail forms and the rest will the the duo forms. The duo forms oh course came out super smooth and I only needed to do filing around the cuticle area to smooth it out. That is to be expected whenever using duo forms. With the nail forms because it's my time using gel and anything like it, it was very bumpy, BUT filing and smoothing it out was not difficult at all. I typically shape my own nails and do them, and I do a lot of arts like sculpting and painting. So I have an advantage in that sense. I've only ever had my nails done by a technician once, and I didn't like it. Nor do I feel it's necessary unless you don't have the time and patience to do your own nails. It literally took me from 3pm-11pm to do both mine and my sisters nails. I'm new. Cut me some slack. It's the next day and the nails are feeling really sturdy and the product is beautiful. I will say you have to prep and put the base coat on no matter what. Look up on YouTube to see how to do that. I forgot to base coat the first nail on my sister and after she showered it popped off I redid the nail. So base coat keeps them on. I plan on trying other brands to compare over time. Just to find out of it's really necessary to buy this really expensive one. But I say give it a try if you have the money and time. It'll pay for itself with however many times you go to the salon. Also one of my favorite YouTubers for nails is Nail Career Education. She has a lot on the proper structure of a nail. It's important to know what to do in order to do these nails, and it's not hard. Unless you struggle with this kind of stuff. Then just get your little sister... Or any friend who will do it for you. *cough, cough* someone like me π

Nice value minus some product spilled in the kit
The only flaw about the kit itself is my slip solution came spilled because the lid wasn'ttight when I opened it. I accidentally broke the wax stick too before using it so just be careful with that. Otherwise, this would definitely deserve 5 stars! You really need to study up before doing polygel if you're a beginner (youtube)! I had trouble with the shaping and made a couple mistakes but will do better next time. That part was on me. Tubes are a good size and will last me a while.I have small fingernails so the dual forms didn't fit my nails but there are ways around that. I've had these on a few days already and believe they will last if I decide not to redo them with better shaping. Nothing bad about the kit itself besides the slip solution coming spilled. I have some left still and will try rubbing alcohol once its gone. This takes a learning curve but I believe anyone can do it with practice.
