Flambeau 5889LO Floating Swan, 1-Pack

Bought these swans every couple of years to keep away ducks from our pool, and for the most part, they have done that job. In the beginning people even mistook them for real swans until they got pretty darned close.But they look shoddier and shoddier with each delivery. This last delivery brought two whose heads don't really totally attach to their necks, making them look partially beheaded! It is too much trouble to send them back, as large as they are, but I will be getting the white spray paint out to see if I can disguise the awful gap.

Great looking swan! Well constructed, timely shipping, a fine company, the only problem was the day after I placed the swans in the river( yes I bought a pair, for authenticity sake) I woke up to 40 geese on my front lawn. You would think that the mother goose would warn her babies to be wary, but that did not happen. They didn't give those swans a second look. I still have gallons of goose mess to clean up. I've tried plan a, this was plan b, now moving on to plan c, which will not be liquid fence or liquid goose repellent, as that appears to not work either. I'm thinking a rope fencing solution might be plan c! The greatest part of my swan purchase, was the three year old who was kayaking by with her mom and grandpa, who absolutely loved the swans because they were sooo pretty & neat! Even Grandpa thought they were beautiful and very cool and he suggested I don't get rid of them. I agree! Another bright side to my purchase, I won't have to clean up after the swans! Silly as it sounds, it appears that geese are not afraid of fake swans!

Put these in the water next to my dock to keep geese from pooping on my float (saltwater) and they seem to be working very well. Easy to assemble, realistic looking.

We bought this swan for keeping herons out of our small pond. So far it works good. The swan is well built. The omly flaw I've noted is the seam on the neck where it connects to the main body. That said, I would recommend this product.

This thing is huge! Not at all what I was expecting. It also - even from a distance - looks fake with the neck and head being separate from the body — visibly separate by a gap. Not at all worth the price I paid. If the price is based on size, maybe. But otherwise, no.

Though I love this product, it doesn't come with instuction for anchoring. I have it in a municipal pond and have to get the firemen with the Zodiac to place them, and that is really an inconvenience. If they would send instuctions on how to successfully anchor them so that they do not go end-up would be most helpful. The decoy's come with several places where loop attachments for an anchor could be made, but so far I haven't found the right one.

The geese thought it was their friend when I put it out in August. Our local beach has some that have been floating since May, and they have kept the geese away all summer. I think you need to put them out early in the season. I will try it again in the spring. (Michigan)

Worked well. Anchored it to float in the center of my dug out and the ducks and geese quit coming around.
