Great Stabilaizer Jack to replace your flimsy factory jacks.
I had to replace one of the factory installed scissor jack stabilizer which was damaged on my RV trailer so I decided to replace both of my front stabilizer jacks since the original jacks were so flimsy which was the reason one of them was damaged. This BAL 24830 (24inch) Stabilizer jacks is made out of metal about ten times thicker than the original flimsy factory scissor jacks. I also purchased a set of 4 of the self leveling round feet which attach to the bottom of the legs. The original jacks did a poor job of stabilizing the trailer but this BAL 24830 Jack actually stabilizes the trailer so well that I am buying a second BAL JACK to replace my perfectly good rear scissor stabilizers which don't provide good stability. The fact that both of the stabilizers legs are attached to each other across the width of the RV adds a tremendous amount of rigidity the underside of the trailer. This rigidity along the lateral axis is what provides the real stabilization for an RV while scissor jacks just rock back and forth on the lateral axis. This BAL Jack were easy to install with 4 self tapping metal screws provided which required me to drill only two new holes in the frame while reusing two holes from the original scissor jacks. They even give you a heavy duty hand crank to turn the jack screw up or down. I use a small electric drill to quickly raise or lower the legs then give a half turn with the hand crank to put good pressure on the legs. Depending on the height of your RV trailer frame from the ground will make a difference on which BAL Jack you need to purchase.

They are heavy duty units
You can cut the unit to fit your trailers frame. I cut mine to fit a 1970 Airstream, they are the Sam quality as the original jacks. Can’t wait to use them.

I also like the telescoping feature
Stabilizer jacks did the trick. Eliminated almost all of the shake in the rear of our 34' 11" Silverback 5th Wheel Camper. This cper has the Lippert 6 pt. Auto Leveling System, still has shake in the rear living area. After installing the stabilizer jacks almost all of the shake is gone. I only had to drill 2 holes for the new jacks. I was able to use 2 existing holes. I also like the telescoping feature. It makes it very easy to adjust the width without sacrificing strength. I also added the BAL 20031 Deluxe Base Pads. These provided additional footprint for spreading the weight load. These installed very easy, also.

Greatly reduced vibration when using washing machine
I added a Spledide 2100 washer/dryer to my rv and had some shaking during the various wash cycles. Not real bad but bad enough. I replaced my rear scissor jacks with the BAL 24830 and it is night & day difference. These jacks are so much more stable. Highly recommend. The install was very easy with the only real work being getting my scissor jacks off.

Attached to frame without problems. Lowered themselves and broke off while driving.
Bought these to replace jacks I had on my trailer. They look stronger and sturdier than the previous BAL telescoping jacks that I had. They mounted easily and attached securely to the frame without any problems. While towing to the campsite however, the vibrations from the dirt road caused the jacks to lower themselves and sheer off the frame. Luckily the car behind us saw them fall off and flagged us down. I have never had a problem with BAL products, but these jacks should not lower themselves by themselves while driving!
