Amazing concept but poor design that ultimately fails to make satisfactory vegetable noodles
I have tried several different vegetable spiralizers, both the julienning/peeling kind, and the kind where you "sharpen" the vegetables like the SuperSwizz. I am so in love with the concept; vegetable noodles are my absolute favorite pasta alternative. By the way, I'm not claiming that vegetable strands can substitute wheat or rice pasta in any way; it's just a healthy alternative.Unfortunately, the SuperSwizz was disappointing for a several reasons. First, the strands do not come out evenly. Particularly with firmer vegetables like carrots and beets, the noodles would cut off randomly, making very irregular and not-noodley shavings. They did not even come close to coming out as evenly and thickly as in the picture. Second, the device itself was a nightmare to clean. There is a cute little brushhead included to get through the hole in the middle of the sharpener, but it doesn't get through the small cracks and gaps in the plastic, let alone in the narrowness of the blades. No way was I sticking my fingers in there to pry out the stuck carrot/beet/cucumber shreds; the product is poorly designed. Why are there so many gaps and crevices to make it so hard to wash??Having pieces of food stick in there and not come out is unsanitary. Eventually the food would rot or mold, and I'm not risking that just for a device that doesn't even work that well. I threw this out because I couldn't clean it properly due to its terrible composition.I was so delighted to get to try this; the double ends, the cute handheld design, the included brush and safety handle... all appealing conceptually. But actually trying it out? I was extremely disappointed.FTC Disclaimer: I received one complimentary SuperSwizz from the company in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I was not paid or sponsored to say anything—positive or otherwise—and all opinions are solely mine.

Hiding veggies in dinner dishes just got easier!
I have used the Super Swizz to create tiny carrot pieces for a tossed salad and "ribbons" of english cucumber for my toddler. I plan to use it to create zucchini pasta dishes as soon as our crop grows this summer! My husband doesn't care for zucchini and I'm pretty sure with this gadget I'll be able to find lots of creative uses for the veggie!I've never used a spiral slicer, so I don't know how this one compares to others. I have a more difficult time avoiding injury than I thought I would using this slicer, but I'm not the most coordinated person in the kitchen! The core piece of vegetable left after using this gadget is bigger than I imagined it would be. I didn't have much luck using the guard that comes with the SuperSwizz to grate my carrots or cucumbers, but maybe it works better with larger veggies.I'm a "cheap" person in general and expect a LOT of bang for my buck. If I hadn't received the SuperSwizz for free for the purposes of review, I would be sorely disappointed with the cost; personally, I would be willing to pay about half of what it's going for, but that's probably just me being cheap again!Overall, it's an OK kitchen gadget. If you're really into veggie pastas and salads, it would probably be great for you.

Eh
Bought and used but ultimately replaced with larger, sturdier and better performing kitchen tool to do the job.

... star of my home cooking to "that piece of crap sitting in my cupboard that I don't use anymore" ...
This thing went from the star of my home cooking to "that piece of crap sitting in my cupboard that I don't use anymore" in about two weeks. I mean... it works alright and everything.... but the novelty of it wears off kind of fast. Also, you have to continually stop slicing and clean out the blades like every 30 seconds or it will get all jammed up and the slices won't come out consistent.

I recommend buying this sort of thing locally
This performance of this product is fair. After purchasing the product, I found similar products selling for a lower price. I'd say this particular brand is overpriced. I recommend buying this sort of thing locally. Had I done that, I would have returned it because of the performance.

Slightly easier than shredding by hand
It is a bit clumsy to use and is very difficult to clean. I had to use toothpicks to get the zucchini debris off the blades; the blades are in a very tight space and normal cleaning methods didn't work.

One of the Worst Products You Will Find on Amazon
This is the single worst product I have purchased in the last five years. It was totally useless on our first attempt to cut carrots. The build quality is cheap plastic. Unfortunately I put it back in the box with the intention of returning it, and then forgot about it for a month. Now the return period is passed. Maybe I can give it as a gag gift. The product is SO stupid that they literally did not even proof read the advertising text on the box. They spelled "Japanese" as "Japaness". Funny. Of course it was made in CHINA

Raw Zucchini?
I didn't think I would find raw zucchini tasty by any stretch. I ordered this in an attempt to try something new and also replace some of the pasta we eat once a week with spaghetti.Let me tell you, the first night we made a raw zoodles dish for dinner we cleaned our plates. We had the same thing again the next night. My husband and I had a whole raw zucchini each and it was delicious! I thought it would be ok, an attempt to be healthy, the sauce would make up for the taste, but no, I actually liked the zoodles!Try this out. Make your favorite hot spaghetti sauce pour it over some spiralized zucchini and go to town!
