Beados Gems Design Studio

As a mother of 7 year old twins, I have seen the good, the bad and ugly toys. First off, you have to have an extreme amount of patience for this. It was painful for even me to do it. The arm that shoots the beads down seemed too short and I had to maneuver the template around to place the beads. The premise is that the beads all have straight edges to where they should theoretically connect, hence the problem of beads shooting out of the arm. I had to manually place them as much as they landed correctly. The unicorn template my daughter tried, that I had to do for her, is not really recognizable as such, although I did ask my daughter if she thought it looked like a unicorn and she said yes. All that being said, I wouldn't recommend this or buy it again. One could simply glue beads together for the same effect and much cheaper. Sorry beados!

This did NOT work well. The beads were the best part and they did not stay together well. Our 9 year old WANTED desperately for this to work and stayed committed...but GOLLY NEDS! Would NOT NOT NOT buy if I were you. Just get the beads, not this contraption.

Got this for my 8 year old daughter for her birthday. It was a few hours of fun, but has not touched it since.This design studio set comes with a lot of fancy fun tools, be careful not to overspray beados with water, they will not stick and dry properly.

I found my younger age kids (7,6, 4) were just not into this like I thought they would be. They were excited to open it and try it out, but had a hard time using it and getting the beads to stay in place. They have not touched it since that 1 time.

The machine seeing the kids really liked but it became not needed because it was faster to use the tweezer things in the little machine thing but very cute and they still liked it a lot

These are just kind of a crappy product, would rather spend same money on some nice beads for my 8 y.o. daughter to string, thought I guess she thought this was cool for a passing moment...

Got this for my daughter. She loves making her own jewelry. Only complaint is the bead loader jams up a lot. Other than that works great.

My children love beados so this is a great addition for them. I would say this one is more novelty than actually a need for the beados as we find the pens good enough. This does hold alot of beads and really easy to use for the smaller hands who may struggle with the pen. You also get some great designs in this box which have been easy to make. There is also 500 beads included so if your new to the beads you have all you need to get started for a little while.

Daughter wanted this for christmas, has made a bracelet and ring so far. A little fiddly so would recommend for children 7+ , easy to assemble and kept her busy for a whole afternoon. Easy to follow instructions, would suggest buying a refill pack at the same time as it only contain enough for a few task and they drop and lose some in the process.

Daughter aged 6 can't do this. the balls fly everywhere and get lost. The contraption is pointless. You are just paying for the beads really which is so expensive!! There doesn't seem to be many at all. 6 little packets? They must make such a high profit margin. Ridiculous. The pen to the machine is far to big! You can't get the balls to sit next to each other without tapping occasionally and once tapping lightly all the balls get displaced. Found it easier to use fingers! And she couldn't do that so I did and then all she could do is spray the water. Expensive mistake! Disappointed daughter with a looked forward to Christmas present. Sad really. Barbie's were a bigger hit!

Very fragile. My 7 year old dismounted it very quickly and very difficult to put together again. Now it's used without the studio which in my opinion it's not necessary and it's too big.

My daughter loves this, however, the pen dispenser is rubbish for dispensing a bead into the correct hole. We found that all you can really do is pop it out and then try to manoeuvre the bead to where you want it by carefully pushing it. And make sure that you expect to be vacuuming up beads for the foreseeable future as it does spill easily!
