Airfix 1:72 Supermarine Spitfire Mk1a/Messerschmitt Bf109E-4 Gift Set (A50135)

It might only be a tiny 1:72 scale but, AirFix is spot on with detail. I love the fact that they made this a dog fight theme. It will fit nicely on a desk when finished. Great conversation piece too. AirFix, you did a great job with this kit!

Excellent kit, 2 planes. Fantastic detail, engraved panel lines. Will be looking at other Airfix kits. They have come a long way from their kits of the 1970's and 80's!!

This is a great starter set of two iconic aircraft. The kits themselves are mostly flash free, with only a little in the way of mould lines to clean up. Clear instruction and paint guide. Decals are excellent. The only problem is some of the paints are showing their age. The Spitfire undersurface “duck egg green” is particularly nasty. A fairly experienced modeler will probably have better paints to use, but if you buy this for a beginner, please look at buying the appropriate paints separately to avoid disappointment and disillusionment. Overall, value for money for a two plane kit.

The kit was good but the paints were completely dry. Most likely sitting in a warehouse for quite a few years. Don't get it unless you already have the paints needed to finish this model.

So, first watch the price. It will go down to $22 and jump to $27 so get it when it is low. I have not built this kit yet, it looks good and airfix kits are good quality. My beef is with the paints which are all dried up and beyond saving, it would be wise to order paint separately. This seems to be quite common with these kits.

Ich hatte seit langem mal wieder Lust gekriegt Model Flugzeuge zu bauen und anzumalen. Das Airfix Set hier bietet eine gute Einstiegsmöglichkeit für Leute, die sowas mal ausprobieren möchten, da Farben und Pinsel im Set mit enthalten sind. Das zusammenbauen und anmalen hat mich pro Flugzeug ca. 1 Tag gekostet und sieht am Ende auch echt gut aus, je nachdem wie geschickt man ist :D Gute Qualität und macht Spaß, kann ich nur weiter Empfehlen!

The kit is good. Paints and brushes are included. However the packaging was torn when I received it. It could have been at the customs or maybe shipped as such. Since it's imported from outside India, delivery takes time and delays are almost always expected. Haven't assembled yet but its 4/5 stars so far.

Nice complete (with paint etc) package. ready 2 use two nice historic planes. Not for the real beginner but also not 2 complicated.

What a great kit with mostly everthing you need. I ordered model tools seperately with a needed craft knife, file and cutting mat, but the kit has all the paints, glue and brushes you need. The only downside was the scale of some of the parts. I managed to break a couple of tiny parts but tbh they were so small I left them off! The same with the decals; really some are so tiny you can probably leave them off unless you have a microscope! Great kit for the money and a huge challenge to complete!
