Great tool - almost
So, I received my MM today (yes, abbreviations) and overall I like it. I have already made use of it to hang several pictures, a floating shelf, and some shelves in the laundry room. It is a GREAT time saver and such a simple product. That being said, there are a couple small beefs I have with it:1) The slides - So, the two little red slides that you use to mark measurements, that move back and forth along the rail. These things move a little TOO easy. Lets say I'm working on, I dunno, a floating shelf. And I have it on the table and I line up the slides perfectly so I can mark the wall. If I'm not careful with how i hold the MM, and how I place it against the wall, the slides will easily move throwing off my measurements. I would have put the screws in the wrong place if I did not follow the addage of "measure twice, cut once". When I went back to the table, I noticed that my slides were nearly 1/2" from where I had set them when I was on the table originally. I didn't touch them, or move them, or even swing around the MM over my head to cause centrifugal force to do its job. Maybe if they didn't slide free? Or if there was a knob or lever that locked them in place? I dunno. But with how loose they are right now, you need to be careful, or at least you do with mine. At the end, I was just putting tape on the slides when I found their spot. Not something I should really need to do with a product less than one hour out of the packaging.2) Accuracy of the product description - On the amazon product page, they repeatedly refer to a feature that marks standard distances of different fixtures. Here's a couple quotes:"as well as standard placement markings along its profile for easy alignment of electrical outlets, sockets and plumbing fixtures." And then "Standard placement markings of electrical outlets, sockets and plumbing fixtures."As you can see in the first picture I included, there are no such markings. One of the reasons I PURCHASED this tool was because it had these included, and would save me a few moments on occasion when I needed to calculate those things. It's sure on the pics on the product page, but not on the product I received. So, there ya have it. I think the whole idea is great, and even with the cheesy slides it will benefit me greatly for many tasks around the house. I'll probably eventually drop up a model of the slides and print them on my 3d printer, unless Kapro wants to send me a couple of better ones.On those slides, I was thinking that part of the issue with them MAY not be the manufacture (though some sort of lock would be nice), but maybe the packaging. the packaging for these things consists of a small piece of cardboard tie-wrapped to one end. Which means that the mechanical bits of the thing (the slides) can and are hit, dinged, broken (if you read the other reviews here), and basically just out in the open. Heck, look at my second picture. My MM arrived in a box WAY bigger than it was with no padding, so it pretty much rattled around inside that box and who knows how many times those slides impacted the side of the box. Could you imagine a whole case of these in the same box, hitting each other each time the box is moved? Maybe its no wonder the slides are loose/broken by the time they make it to the consumer. Maybe a little better job on the packaging could prevent these issues. One final note. Has anyone else figured out the small hole on the slide? Look at my third picture, and you'll see a small hole on the slide with a cross-hair fashioned over it. No matter how I turn the slide, that hole is always over the slide itself so its not for marking. Maybe its for the "placement markings" that are missing from the product?

So close, yet so far!
I love the concept behind this product. I bought this to keep my wife honest while hanging key hole shelves. I was most excited for the sliding markers to act as drill guides. Sadly, these were missing from the package when I received it.After a closer inspection, I also noticed that there was a plastic guard on one end of the bar. This offset the ruler by about 3/8” and making some measuring applications very complicated. In all, I love this idea, but the execution just wasn’t quite there.

THE MEASURE MATE DOESN'T MEASURE UP
Description includes this claim: certified compliant with ISO standards 9001, 14001, and SA8000. That is an obviously bogus claim. The rule comes with the red plastic centering pieces mounted in the slots on the side measuring metric consecutive units. I need the side which displays SAE units measuring from center. I remove and place the plastic red pieces in the SAE side. They fit such that the pieces actually "fall freely" in the slot and don't hold my dimensions. The red pieces are suppose to be a medium friction fit. Other kapro products I own are perfect. This one is particularly BAD tolerancing and manufacture. Manufacturers can't be this bad and be ISO certified. It's not worth returning because of AMZ deduct for shipping.

Large triangular ruler with level
This rulers shape reminds me of the triangular engineering/architect scale ruler except it is bigger and has only one scale. This is a large two foot long ruler, with a 1 9/16 base and a height of 1 1/16 high. The graduations do not go to the ends. One side of the ruler the scale starts at zero inches, the second side scale starts with the zero in the middle. On the bottom side the mm scales start near the one end. The bubble level indicators are reasonably accurate. I could not tell how the lettering is applied. A close up picture of the mm scale is attached. A great tool for hanging pictures. I have not tried the knife cutting guide yet. The nail holder has a clip which keeps it attached to the ruler, so it is not likely to get lost. It has a variety of interesting features. I like Kapro tools. This product is made in China

I will never hang anything in my house without this again.
This multi-functional tool is a great one to have on hand, especially for indoor projects. Having a level and both English and metric rulers in one lightweight tool is extremely convenient. It's been incredibly helpful for hanging art/pictures. The sliding markers are helpful for transferring measurements, especially where you should put the nails when hanging shelving, larger mirrors or frames that require more than one nail or bracket. I'm also a big fan of the nail gripper, because I'm always afraid of hitting my fingers when hammering. Now I don't have to be.I haven't yet had to use the knife guide, but I'm really glad it's available and certainly wish I had had it when I was trying to cut a matte for a larger picture frame a couple of years ago. It would have been easier and the edges much more accurate/straight.

Arrived broken... poor quality...
Arrived with a broken guide... after looking at the quality of the sliding guides... I'm not happy. Not worth returning... since I recycled the packaging prior to noticing the damage.I own a SERIOUS amount of Kapro products and this seriously bothers me... as their quality is usually wonderful.

' but still nice to have nonetheless
I wish I had this thing in architecture grad school. Solid, aluminum ruler with the ability to make cuts and mark things off by using the 2 red slides. The red slides are plastic, and do not quite live up to their billing as a 'pencil,' but still nice to have nonetheless. I'm not sure what you would use this for other than craft/hobbies or perhaps something related to school, but it's a nice cutting edge and 2 feet is perfect. (Made in China)

ok, nothing special
I've no interest in imperial but you cannot change the faciong side to metric, not too sure if there is a metric version of this.
