Modern Russian Tanks: 1990-Present (Technical Guides)

Very good. Provides design histories, dimensions, weights, armament, and performance data.
This is a very good book on contemporary Russian army armored vehicles. Not surprisingly, most of them originated back in the days of the former Soviet Union. The book starts with the old T-10 heavy tank and moves up to the most recent T-90 and T-14 "Armata" tanks. It then covers armored personnel carriers and armored cars, armored infantry fighting vehicles, tank destroyers, and finally self-propelled artillery. It describes the original designs as wells the upgrades that have occurred over the years. The text describes the design development history and usually the design and manufacturing organization. Tabulations are provided for weights and dimensions, number produced, armament, engine horsepower, speed, crew size, and armor type and thickness. Sometimes, data is given on the weapon performance. The text is accompanied by photos and color renderings.

A very complete guide with no many rivals in english.
A very complete selection of russian AFVs. And dealing with the mothballed tanks you get a 1960 to present guide instead of 1990 to present. Together with chinese and modern tanks, Amber started a very useful collection, probably the first after Janes recognition guides from the 2000s . Nice illustrations, most of them from the web based ''Encyclopedia of tanks".

Up-to-Date Accuracy
This is a very recent encyclopedia of post-Soviet armored fighting vehicles, including some of the later Soviet types. A very well written, well-researched and informative addition to your military library.

Very Good Reference But VERY Small Print
This is a handy reference on post-WWII Soviet/Russian vehicles, with detailed specifications and good photos. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that the print font size is so small that I need a magnifying glass for some sections. I wish they had made the print size more standard, but overall it's an enjoyable and useful text.

This great series of books for anyone with interest on the subject
This is the best series of books that helped me understand the machine better also since I’m a model maker . It’s a quick reference when you are finishing with detail and or painting your masterpiece.

Many Errors in data
Intended to use for 3d modeling but many numbers are not correct. For example gives lenght 2S19 MSTA as 7.15 meters... INCLUDING barrel. That number is really EXCLUDING barrell.

Informed review of current and recent Russian AFVs
I was looking for an informative review of the extraordinary range of current Russian armoured vehicles and this met my need perfectly. Yes, the paintings are not very exciting and the photos are somewhat small, but there again this is a small format book

Allerdings in englisch geschrieben.
