Loadsa space
The 3 16gb Ironwolf Drives arrived well packed and looked brand new, no problems with them, they are fairly loud in operation but I have my NAS right behind my sofa, will probably relocate it somewhere else at some point.

Drive usage reset, Used drive sold as New
Drive was 100% not new and efforts had been made to make a used drive look new.I've bought several of these drives over the years and the packaging appeared to be all legitimate for an OEM drive, the drive had very minor scuffing around the screw holes and on the SATA pads but I put that down to a potential testing process.Once checking the SMART details it was apparent that this drive had been cleaned and had it's SMART details reset to show it as 0 hours and present it as new, if you probe the HDD's firmware elsewhere it shows that it's been powered on and in use for 25904 hours (2.95 years).Looked very passable but unfortunately there's a lot of 2nd hand drives flooding the market with their details reset and this happened to be one of them. :(Seagate's propiatory FARM log data can't be reset as easily as the SMART data and can be checked on a Linux machine with:smartctl --log=farm /dev/sdX | grep "Power on Hours"Where /dev/sdX is your drive.

Cheap £ per TB but noisy
Delivery was quick and packaged reasonably well but not much protection so if the delivery guy was happy Chucky then I think it may fail pretty soon.Great drive overall which I have fitted to my synology ds224+.Transfer speeds are great and no issues at all so far.The only downside is the noise.I have the server in a cupboard in the living room by the main router, and I have noticed the drive is very loud. when reading and writing the noise is so loud it sounds like it’s pouring with rain outside and it’s bouncing off the roof.Compared to my 6tb wd reds I have in my old hp nl54 this is really noisy but price per tb is the clear winner.

Good drive, always reliable
Great these. You can files to them and everything. They are at home with others in their cozy encasement. The only ones failing now are my 3TB ones that have been spinning for years. #recommended

Deceptive Listing – Used Drive Sold as Brand New with Tampered SMART Data
I purchased a Seagate HDD from this seller expecting a brand new drive, but after running diagnostics using smartmontools, it’s clear this is not a new drive at all.The SMART report revealed:• Power-On Hours: 28,000+ hours• Start/Stop Count: Extremely high (indicating long-term use)• Reallocated Sector Count & UDMA CRC Errors: Present – early signs of potential failure• Firmware & Serial Info: Shows signs of tampering – possibly from a data center or crypto farmThe drive clearly came from a heavily used environment, likely repurposed from a server or mining/farming setup, and someone attempted to reset or manipulate the SMART data to hide its real condition. Fortunately, not all SMART attributes can be reset easily, and this is how I uncovered the deception. This is a huge red flag. Selling a drive with over 3 years of usage (24/7) and marketing it as brand new is outright dishonest and dangerous for buyers relying on these drives for storage integrity. If you’re considering this seller, double-check your drive with smartmontools right after receiving it. Any genuine new drive should show:• Power-On Hours: 0–1• Start/Stop Count: 0–1• No reallocated sectors or errorsHope this helpsDo NOT trust this listing if you’re expecting actual new hardware. Avoid unless you’re comfortable dealing with used enterprise drives and possibly failing hardware.

Great high capacity drive.
Drive is high capacity and great value for money. Slight hiccup on delivery as customs duty had to be paid by the seller prior to collection from Royal Mail. Extremely well packaged so as to prevent any damage. Now have two of these so I can backup my MacBook Pro to one and then duplicate the backup to the second 14Tb drive effectively giving me RAID backup should one drive fail.

Great HD for price, but Noisy
I recently upgraded my storage solution with the Seagate IronWolf Pro 16TB hard drive, and I couldn't be more satisfied with my choice. Designed for NAS environments, this drive excels in performance and reliability. The 7200 RPM speed ensures quick access to my files, significantly improving my workflow for data-heavy tasks. One feature I particularly appreciate is its IronWolf Health Management system, which helps monitor the drive's health and performance, providing peace of mind. I’ve noticed a reduction in my downtime due to its robustness—great for small business applications or home users with substantial storage needs. The noise levels are surprisingly low, allowing for seamless integration into my home office setup. Additionally, the 16TB capacity is a game-changer, providing ample space for all my files, from photos and videos to extensive backups and archives.Overall, I highly recommend the Seagate IronWolf Pro 16TB for anyone looking for a reliable, high-capacity hard drive that doesn't compromise on performance. It's a worthy investment for anyone serious about their data storage needs. It's a great value for money, but for another part it's very noisy.
