Construction The cutting head of the Wood Boring Bit is crafted of #65 carbon steel with a 1/2" Hex shank. This bit features a screw-threaded center point for precise bit location and for fast self-starting of the hole. Multiple spurs on the outside diameter increase the cutting performance of the blade, ensuring effortless cutting - even in gummy wood. Replacement Pilot Screw The Wood Boring Bit features a replaceable self-feeding pilot screw which holds the bit in place and helps draw the bit through the wood, improving balance and reducing runout.
