SHAPERMINT Tummy Control Shapewear - Body Shaper Tummy Control Boyshort, Body Shaper for Women, Plus Size Shapewear

I am currently 5’5 weighing 200 pounds. I usually wear L/XL. I ordered a Medium I was a little nervous but It sucked it all in without feeling like you can’t breathe, eat, or drink. This one is also true to size. Yes you can still get your normal size and it will be super comfortable but you won’t feel much compression it will only smooth the belly fat appearance. I did notice that the shorts part will roll up especially if you have thicker thighs like me but the most important thing works I just need see will it help when I get fully dressed. I can trim the shorts if I need to because I am not sending them back. I’m wearing them with a jumpsuit…So I recommend going a size smaller than your normal size if that helps.

I sized up one size from what the size chart said I should order because I want the garment to be comfortable and not roll, and I'm glad I did. If you want very high compression probably order the size indicated on the size chart. As likely for all shapewear, this was still somewhat difficult to put on, especially at the top center back, but was comfortable once it was on. There are some issues for me, however. I'm short, 5'3", and probably needed a petite, which isn't offered. When I pulled the garment up all the way as it should be and where it's most comfortable, unfortunately the high compression area in front was not low enough and actually caused my lower belly to pooch out more, with a visible crease where the high compression area starts. I had to pull the garment down some in front to get the high compression area low enough on my tummy to support all of it. This would probably not be the case for someone of average or taller height, however. Having to wear the garment lower than intended also made the top edge lower, which isn't a problem except it rolls down in the back, maybe also because I can't get the center back pulled up completely without help, which I don't have getting dressed nor especially in a restroom! There are no snaps, gusset, or other opening in the crotch, so the garment would have to be completely pulled down to use the bathroom, and then pulled up and positioned correctly again while being fully dressed. This would be difficult and take too long. That's the reason for deducting a star. I didn't deduct another star for the imperfect fit as that is probably mostly due to my short torso. Just be aware of these issues. The lack of an opening for using the bathroom without having to pull the garment all the way down may be a deal breaker for me, but I'm going to keep it and practice more with it to see if it becomes easier. It wasn't expensive and I only bought it for one special future event. (Had it cost $78 like some brands back it would go!) While it doesn't reduce my measurements, it does give a smoother silhouette, except where it rolls at the top back which I hope I can learn to eliminate. I can't get it pulled all the way up at the center back. I have slender legs so the legs are actually a little loose on me, and they also come down lower on my thighs than boy shorts would, probably because I can't position the garment all the way up because the high compression area begins too high on my tummy that way. The leg length isn't a problem for my use. The quality seems good and the color Nude is a pretty, very light beige. The directions say machine wash on cold and dry on low heat, but I'll probably air dry them. Also, someone mentioned the fabric content being different, and it is shown as 90% Polyamide, 10% Elastane, if that matters to you. Also, which doesn't matter to me but might to you, the rear just seems to be high compression except for the lower part; I don't see it as shaping or accentuating the fanny, just smoothing it. On me there is no crease at the back where the high compression area starts, unlike in the front on my lower tummy unless I don't pull it up all the way in front. The high compression area begins at a horizontal line all the way around and the compression seems the same as far as I can tell. Apparently this company has a very generous return policy and suggests exchanging for a smaller size if you want more compression or a larger size to help prevent rolling. They also provide a QR code for chatting about the fit or if it rolls, although I haven't used that yet, but I may. For me ordering one size up from the size chart measurements seems to be the right decision, as I'm older and know I won't wear anything too uncomfortable even for a special event. This is my only shapewear and I hope I get better at positioning the top back of the garment. My suggestions for Shapermint would be to include an opening in the crotch for bathroom use and to also offer this in a petite length option. Otherwise it seems good and about what I expected.

Good, but. I liked how these fit and gave some tummy support. However, the legs did nothing to benefit the thighs and actually rolled up to create an unsightly roll all aroud the lower hip. Embarrassing and frustrating. I've tried Shapermint before and i can honestly say the garments do not live up to the hype. Disappointed.

I already had 2 of these that I had gotten directly from Shapermint’s website. I LOVED those! So I saw these offered here on Amazon, and to the naked eye look like the exact same thing: same legit Brand name, same product name, same fabric description, etc. BUT when I received this from Amazon, the feel of the fabric and fit were NOT the same as my original Shapermints that I already had and had fallen in love with. These ones from Amazon fit much looser, and the fabric felt thinner and less “sturdy”/thick. Basically the quality and “hold” strength felt very sub-par what I was used to from my originals from the Shapermint site. Upon further inspection, I realized the Amazon Shapermint fabric material was actually 90% Polyamide & 10% Elastane. This is DIFFERENT from the ‘same’ products available direct from Shapermint. The ones direct from Shapermint are made of Nylon & Spandex = so I was correct in that the direct Shapermint ones were indeed a lot thicker and that material held tighter and felt a lot more of substantial quality. However, Amazon’s description of the fabric makeup listed theirs as indeed Nylon/Spandex - This was WRONG and misleading. The ones ordered from Amazon are really Polyamide/Elastane. Just beware. If you’re looking for a quality feel, and sturdier fit, order directly from Shapermint. I included pics here of what the one I received from Amazon: Polyamide/Elastane in reality, even though the description incorrectly states Nylon/Spandex. I much prefer the sturdier and higher quality Nylon/Spandex ones, so I returned the Polyamide/Elastane ones back to Amazon, and re-ordered the higher quality ones directly from Shapermint - received those and am much much happier!

I’m surprised this item received so many great reviews. If I didn’t walk or sit down, it would have been great. The top rolls down and the “boy shorts” turned into a thong after an hour. I kept going in to the rest room to reposition. I bought a medium, I’m athletic, and weight 142. Maybe I bought th wrong size.

Love that these stay up & don’t roll down! They also wash well. There’s no “binding or pinching”- super comfortable!

Doesn’t completely makes your waist look slimmer like other shape wear does

Surprisingly comfy even after wearing for a few hours. They didn't roll down at all and have kept shape after removing them. The legs did roll up a bit while putting tights on but the fit was good so I didn't have any fat bulge on my legs so I was happy.

Was very excited for this, the compression is good but the shorts isnt seamless, can be seen under tighter dresses, which is what wearing the shapewear is for right?
