Adorable Felted Animals: 30 Easy & Incredibly Lifelike Needle Felted Pals (Gakken Handmade)

I love this book! Lots of great instruction and adorable animals to make. I made a ferret mama and baby and they turned out so cute!

There are a lot of felted animal books out there and I have copies of most of them. This is an easy to use informative book. It would definetly be suitable for beginners but I think that more advanced needlefelters would appreciate this author's unique approach.

The animals are indeed adorable, but most of them are just variations of cats and dogs. I was hoping for more woodland creatures and farm animals to be mixed in, but instead there are about 10 different dog breeds and almost as many cats. The instructions are clear and I like the "actual size" templates that they provide. I just wish there was a little more variety in a book called "Felted Animals."

Not happy at all! This is exactly why ALL sellers should HAVE to have the option for questions & answers.. So far everything ive ever bought that didn't have the option to ask a question 1st, was all stuff i had to return. Book itself is good quality, even the black & white copy paper itself is decent. However I feel like the description is deceptive. The Retriever dog is the ONLY animal that has step by step instructions. The rest are like the 1st pic I attached, it's just templates & nothing more. Not happy at all & will be requesting a refund.. It kinda states that at the very end of the very long description. However, #1 not all phones show you full description when they're super long. Mine didnt, I just now logged on with a different device & was able to see that there was more to the description than what was shown on my phone. 2nd, still after i just now read it, I didn't think it was just copy paper with shapes on it & had there been a question section, I would have been able to avoid all this. The back cover is also very bent! However I would have most likely let that go had the book itself been more than mostly black & white printed shapes..

Not as easy to follow for a beginner as I had hoped. However if you already know what you are doing, this would likely be very helpful. The animals are quite adorable, and it was worth the purchase but I'm a bit too much of a novice to really utilize it.

There is a very nice selection of different and adorable animals to make. They look very lifelike and the instructions are very clear and well written. The hardest thing for me is deciding which project to make first.

Got this for my kiddo for a gift along with a sample set of wool, and a felting starter kit. She’s only 13 & has ZERO prior experience with felting yet she is making the cutest animals from this book with ease! She says it’s very easy to read & understand. I love the variety of animals you can create with this book as well.. bunnies, puppies, chipmunks, and more!

This is a great book with step by step instructions for making 30 small pets. What I like most is that there are full-size parts printed for each pet. You can create parts, referring to full-size parts diagram as a reference. This eliminates the guess work and all of your little critters feet are the same size. In addition, there is a material list for each animal.

An excellent book on making miniature animals.The book opens up with a gallery of coloured pictures showing all the projects in the book. Then a page on equipment, followed by a full pictorial example/instruction lesson of one of the animals being made, (A Golden Retriever) Then the remaining projects are then all set out giving only the patterns and materials required. If in doubt, you can refer back to the illustrated project, as they all take on a similar makeup format. All appear fairly easy to follow.

I can not believe how poorly organised this book is.It starts by showcasing the designs one can make by following the instructions in the book. Each design has a page number to turn to, now between the showcasing section and the page with the assembly instructions are all the detailed photograph sequences to follow.If you’re confused, this is a basic example: Page1 ‘AdorableFeltedAnimal’ turn to page 100. Page100 Put all these pieces together referring to page 50. Seriously?The photography is awful, the detailed photo sequences you must follow are photographs of light coloured material against a light background It’s really hard to see.I suggest a digital purchase of this book, assuming you really can’t find one better (if you can’t you’re just being lazy) then at least all that page backward and forwarding won’t be such a bloody pain.You might also be able to change your display to get better contrast from those photographs.

I bought this book along with the sweet and simple felted animals by the same author. As with the other book, it is well laid out and easy to follow with patterns for each project. The photos are very clear and easy to follow.It has a good selection of animals to make, some more involved than others.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to make needle felted animals, and would suit beginners and intermediates alike. Lots of good tips too!

Have made a couple of the animals from this and the guides for sizing are good. All the photos for the animals you can make are at the front and the instructions at the back so you do need to flick back and forth a bit. However, the instructions are clear and there is an illustrated guide for the Labrador retrievers that talks you through the steps in more detail. The rest of the instructions then give you size guides and how to put the animals together. Really nice set of little animals to make.

I like this book very much. I am completely new to needle felting . This book has some lovely projects , the instructions are quite clear but as usual with craft books I felt that some of the instructions were a bit skimpy and left to one's own interpretation. However it's easy to create your own style. There are plenty of projects to work at. Well worth the price I paid.
