Hetalia - The Beautiful World: Season 5

Hetalia is back for another round, and more awkward? offensive? completely hilarious? than ever. The polished animation is easy on the eyes, and the jokes are as funny as ever. The cast expands once more with more micronations (though sadly not Kugelmugel, Ladonia, and Mollossia) and bit parts for nations like New Zealand and Romania. Especially hilarious is the sketch on school clubs, Estonia's attempts to find the person who hacked his blog, and all of the Halloween episodes. The mochi segments are a fun, albeit odd, way of breaking up sketches.Fans of the webcomic may be disappointed by both the Buon San Valentino and Nyotalia OVAS. Buon San Valentino has lost what many fans see as its most significant segment in the adaptation: the flashback, implied to be Germany's, of Chibitalia. Nyotalia, too, has diminished in the adaptation, despite the addition of anime-exclusive Miss Latvia. This episode suffers from a lack of actual animation. Half of it is merely a slideshow of characters accompanied by voice acting and the poor music typical of the show. This brings us to the next point: sound. The scoring has not changed and is still fairly obnoxious. The voice acting also, for the most part, has not changed. Those who didn't like it before won't like it any more now. In addition, Todd Haberkorn, the voice of Italy, has mysteriously chosen to make Italy's voice higher pitched. Some may find this difficult to stand. Despite these small complaints, Beautiful World is a worthy successor to the first four seasons of Hetalia. I eagerly await more.

Out of all the Hetalia dvds this one is my favorite. The animation is very fluid, almost movie quality and the stories are really funny. The ending song and dance Italy does is hilarious! However, this is the season where they have apparently changed the person who does Italy's voice. Italy's new voice is very high and he's almost impossible to understand sometimes, especially when hes excited. I found myself having to replay the dvd a couple of times to catch what he said. Once I got used to the new voice it wasn't too bad. This is also the season where they have darkened America's and England's hair. Now they have a dirty blonde look, almost orange, which is still making it hard for me to adjust to. Especially on England since he's my favorite. Otherwise, this is a great dvd and one I would recommend to any Hetalian.

Hilarious, as always - Hetalia doesn't falter, Anthropomorphized versions of the countries around the world, living and hanging out together - whats not to love. This show isn't just for girls either, I don't know who came up with that notion. Anyone with a sense of humor (and especially if you have a good grasp on historical events) would love this show. FYI each episode is only 5 minutes. I was hoping this would come to digital, as I couldn't find the dvds around here (have axis powers, world series and the movie - all hilarious and I HIGHLY reccomend watching them in order). I was just ecstatic to see another season of Hetalia after the last release said it would be the last! I SAY KEEP EM COMING! If you like comedy, you like anime - want to see something innovative and out of left field that anyone could enjoy (and Id say any gender or age group) then hetalia is for you!

The show is amazing, my only complaint is that a couple of the episodes have the audio off by a few seconds. For example, if someone slaps someone else it would be silent and we'd hear the slap a second later. It's only a few episodes, so it's not a major issue.

The delivery was very fast, it came a few days early. The day after I received it in the mail I had to get a tooth drilled, so I had something to watch while I was in pain. The series is amazing, I love it and I've recommended it to a lot of people and all of my friends are addicted as well. Soon we will be having getting together to watch it. Simply put, I am the envy of all of my friends for being the only on to have it. The animation , music, voices and storylines are all very nice/beautiful. All around it is more awesome than Prussia!

The new animation of Hetalia season five really stood out to me in both a good and a bad way. I was so used to the previous season's animation that this style hurt my eyes a bit but after adjusting them, I do like the new look. The jokes are still funny and sometimes inappropriate and the addition of new characters made it possible to do more stories. I especially like the episode with Netherlands in it since I really wanted to see an episode with him in it. The handkerchief included with the DVD wasn't as great as the previous two but still nice to have.

I was very impressed at how fast the package arrived. I loved the free mochi bandana and the stickers that came with the dvd. It played well on my laptop and my tv. I only gave it 4 stars because when I opened the package the paper cover from the dvd was bent and squished. The actual plastic cover was fine. Other than that it was great.

Good product! I give four stars because one of the plastic pieces inside the DVD case was broken when I opened it. But otherwise everything else was fine. If you are a Hetalia fan and are afraid this season won't be as good as the others, fear not! FOR IT IS AWESOME! So make yourself some pasta and sit your tushie down and watch it!

Hetalia is my favourite anime, so there was no doubt I would buy the new series, but there's a lot of debate over whether the dub or the sub is best. I like the dub for its silly jokes, but I think there's a lot more in the sub to justify people preferring it. But, of course, it's down to preference, and I still love the characters, stories and little history tidbits. But, anyway, this series focuses more on culture rather than history, unlike Axis Powers and World Series, which is a nice change.

Great continuation to the modern anime comedy classic.

My daughter loves this and has learnt a lot of world history from watching.
