These are perfect for my tiny little guys (3-4yrs) who are just learning to use scissors… there’s just enough resistance to work those hand muscles but not too much that makes it hard for them to use.

I purchased these on the recommendation of my child's OT. He was using adaptive loop scissors, and she suggested that these safety scissors with a (plastic) spring might be a great way to transition him to regular scissors and hone his scissor skills. She did warn me that the plastic springs tend to break, especially with children who seek proprioceptive input (and put a lot of hand pressure on things because of that). So I bought the pkg of 6 to account for losing some. 😆These were a good value and come in fun colors. They are very safe, and seem comfortable to hold. My son has moved away from the loop scissors thanks to these.Would have given 4 stars if it were not for the tendency of the spring to break.

I bought the plastic edge ones and they didn't work out so well but I noticed these have the same design but with metal edges. My preschoolers have an easier time cutting with these, though they still get hung up on the paper at times. I will use them myself if they are closer then my actual scissors.

Amazing product for teaching our two year old how to use scissors! So easy to switch back and forth and our daughter caught on right away!

The package of 6 scissors is nice, however half of them were so incredibly stiff that no toddler would be able to use them. I tried breaking them in and using them to cut some paper and even a little WD40 on the hinge, but 3 out of the 6 ended up in the garbage. I work with 3 year olds and needed more of this type of scissor. These are horrible. They don’t automatically open back up. The kids don’t even like them. I have ones by Fiskar. Now those are amazing. Just found them again finally and ordered more of those. These are such a waste
