Anker's USB 2.0 A-to-C cable has the correct CC termination! A great legacy cable for your Type-C devices!
Benson here again, continuing my reviews of USB Type C legacy cables. Today I am reviewing Anker's USB Type C to Type A USB2.0 cable.Let's talk about spec compliance. My test setup today include a Chromebook Pixel 2015, and a Chromium OS USB-PD Sniffer (codename Twinkie). Please check it out by searching google for "Chromium USB-PD Sniffer". This product is also available on Amazon here : Plugable USB 3.1 Type-C (USB-C) Power Delivery Sniffer I got a comment in one of my previous reviews that I should be testing with a 2.4A capable power supply to demonstrate that the cable is of good enough quality to sustain 2.4A charging, so for this review, I am using one of Apple's 1st party power adapters with a 5.2V, 2.4A charging capability, specifically Apple's MacBook charger.Running the ectool command on Pixel:localhost ~ # ectool --name cros_pd usbpdpowerPort 0: SNK Charger Proprietary 4631mV / 2400mA, max 5000mV / 2400mA / 12000mWPort 1: SRCIn this case, the Pixel has negotiated up to 2.4A of charging through the Anker cable to the Apple charger.Switching over to the USB PD sniffer, I'll run the "tw cc" command to get a voltage reading on both CC lines:> tw ccCC1 = 416 mV ; CC2 = 17 mVThe important number to look at here is CC1, which indicates a voltage of 416mV. If you refer to the USB Type-C Specification 1.1 Table 4-25.Look at the row labeled vRd-USB, which indicates the legal voltage values to read from the CC pin in order to be categorized as "Default USB Power". The range is Min : 0.25V Max : 0.61V. For this cable, I measured a value of 0.416V right in the middle of this range, indicating that yes, this cable has a 56kΩ resistor and is within spec for CC termination. One more twinky command :> tw vbusVBUS = 4682 mV ; -2440 mAThe vbus command here uses twinkie's built in current and voltage meter. It's confirmed that Pixel is charging at 2.4A.For a USB 2.0 High Speed data test, I’ve hooked my Nexus 5X to my Chromebook Pixel via the Anker Type-A to Type-C cable to test large file transfer via MTP. It just works, no problem! For other more subjective judgements of this cable : The Type-C plug on this cable is a very good quality plug made with a deep-draw extrusion process. The plug is a single continuous piece of metal all the way around, meaning it's stronger than other stamped type plugs. This type of plug is the same kind that is used on all of Google and Apple's Type-C plugs, and the quality shows here. Like all Anker cables, it comes with a very handy velcro cable tie. In my opinion, the fit and finish of the Anker cable is at the same level as the ones from the first parties including Google, Apple, and others. In conclusion, this is a fine cable for your Nexus 6P/5X to use with all of your older USB Type-A chargers, hubs, and PCs. It also works great with Chromebook Pixel 2015 and will work great on USB Type-C spec compliant devices to come!

Buy from Anker! They're great!
Their stuff is always extremely well made. Carries an 18 month warranty and had never malfunctioned on me. This is a USB 2.0 cable and it works great with the quick charge 3.0 car charger I got. And Anker's customer service is top notch as well. Buy with confidence from these guys I own 3 of their battery packs, this cable, a car charger, one of there 5 port wall chargers, and a Bluetooth speaker. I recommend them to my friends and family. My girlfriend recently got a set of Bluetooth earbuds and a battery pack from them as well. Go for it!

Quality economical cables
These cables are a nice quality for the price and have a handy velcro cord wrap. A small drawback for me was the length, in that the cord is too long for a tight space but too short for using a phone while charging in an outlet next to you.

Great 2 amp charging cable for USB-C
I use this on a 2.1 amp charger at work. Seems to function just fine, no issues with my Nexus 6P. I just wish they'd offer longer versions of this product. The resistor inside the cable prevents the cable from delivering too much amperage.

The cord is well made, seems to be the ...
The cord is well made, seems to be the same thickness as the oem charging cable that came with my nexus 6p, and works for both slow charging and data transfer (tested via adb commands from a macbook). Another quality product from Anker, as I have come to expect from them.

and they never disappoint me. The same goes for this cable too
I have several products from Anker, and they never disappoint me. The same goes for this cable too. I mean, it's just a cable, but it doesn't look cheap but solid and reliable. I connect an Android phone to iMac, and create Android apps. So, I'm kind of a heavy user, and it works great.

Excellent data cable. Perfect for app development. Very flexible, good connector.
Using the cable for data transfer (Android, Nexus 6P to Computer) - while other cables loose connection when moving phone or cable, this cable is extremely flexible and the connector well built so that I have no data dropouts. Perfect for app development.

Bought this for my Nexus 6P - perfect for my needs
Bought this for my Nexus 6P - perfect for my needs, moving files back/forth from my nexus and laptop.Quality is one notch above the included cable with my phone and honestly that's really good! For cables, all you need to look for is quality/durability, length, and for USB-C if it's wired correctly. This one fits all 3 so I'm happy!NOTE: I'm late writing this review. I bought this product back when the Nexus 6P was new and USB-C was extremely rare to come by.
