Not perfect, but a great value
I've been using this unit for a couple of weeks, and the performance is exceeding my expectations so far. I see a number of questionable one-star reviews here for this device, but I haven't seen the problems that these reviewers claim to experience. (Bogus reviews?)I'm using this device for scanning fields around my house, looking for feral hogs at night on this rural property, and it is working very well for that purpose. I have not tried using the recording features, so I can't comment on those aspects, but for my purposes it is effective beyond the 350 meters claimed in the listing. The picture is grainy at longer ranges, but good enough for my needs. The 4-power optical magnification and the 50mm objective lens seem to work well, but the digital zoom is not particularly useful. Because the screen resolution is fairly low, zooming in produces a picture that quickly becomes too pixellated to see details.I turn the unit on every 10 minutes or so and scan for a couple of minutes, so the relatively short battery life has not been an issue. I'm using 1.5-volt AA Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries (Amazon number B07YC38QQF). I don't know if they're worth the extra expense, but they are working well so far.I have just mounted a second IR illuminator (Amazon number B07GB1DWW6) on this unit's Picatinny rail, using a 1" scope ring, and the added light seems to increase the useful range out to 600 yards or more for spotting animals. Using the second illuminator (with a rechargeable 18650 battery), I can turn down the Bestguarder IR light to a lower level (level-1) and hopefully get more life out of the AA batteries. I will devise a way to attach a camera strap, using the 1/4-20 threaded hole on the bottom, so that I can more easily carry this unit when scouting around the fields near me.The button layout on this device is a little difficult to navigate in the dark, but I'm starting to get better with it. Also, the lens focus ring moves a little too easily and sometimes gets moved accidentally, requiring me to re-focus. They manufacturer should make this ring a little harder to turn. At this point, my biggest complaint is the green reticle that shows in the center of the display when I'm looking around at night. I don't see how this reticle is anything more than a gimmick, I don't see a way to turn it off, and it is obstructing my view of small details at longer ranges. If the Bestguarder had better picture quality, and did NOT have the useless reticle on the screen, I would give it a 5-star rating. For the price, however, it does what I need and does it well.

Practically worthless
They are basically a toy. Fun to look through but trying to use them for moving around at night or hunting is ridiculous. Since they don't work very well as a field tool I thought I would use them as a stationary camera. The company did not respond to my question about what kind of connector to use with them or where to get the driver.

Taint dat simple , but it'll ream ....
NOT an optical view, everything you see is LCD display reproduced, so not as crystal clear as imagined. Also, the instructions that come with , way below par. This is CHINA-dom at its worst, mkay? I'm screaming: Jesusth Christh

Not good
Wouldn't focus beyond 50 yards, the advertisement says that night vision can observe 200 yards

Great night animal and sky viewing tool
It was planned to use for my first hunting season after getting the hunting license and weapon. However, the pandemic changed everything. Until this summer, I found it is can be used to observe the backyard animals as my house is by the edge of a forester. It was a lot of fun to share with the kids and family to observe the deers, wild turkeys, groundhogs, raccoons, and birds in the wood at night with the night vision. It is a surprise for me the number of species living nearby the human neighborhood. Another usage I found recently is to observe the Neowise comet in the dark, with the night vision enhancement, it works even better for observing the tail of the comet. Although not serving the original purpose, glad it can still be useful in the other way. Still hoping to use it for hunting when the pandemic is gone.
