This is a phenomenal ruler that may demand a blood sacrifice if you're not careful. It makes it so easy and quick to cut strips. With this ruler I was able to cut 6 total yards of a variety of fabrics into 1.5 inch strips in a matter of a couple hours, a task that would've taken a couple weeks without it. I was so excited and so in a rhythm that I also ended up cutting a chunk off my thumb. :( I highly recommend this ruler. I also highly recommend paying attention to where you place your hand while using it.

As we all do, I am getting older. Couple that with an eye problem that I hope will be corrected soon with surgery, and I find that accurate cutting is getting more difficult. It is intensely frustrating to waste fabric having to re-cut. With my very first use of the Stripology ruler I cut six 2” x WOF strips that were perfectly accurate. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The ruler comes with instructions for cutting strips, sub cutting the strips, cutting pieced strip units, squaring up blocks, and cutting diamonds and triangles. Is it a financial investment? You betcha. Will this ruler always hang on the wall of my sewing room? Double betcha!

A Must have for every quilter . Easy to use and makes cutting strips so easy and fast.

My favorite ruler for cutting my quilting pieces. To me it is well worth the cost because I can cut evenly without any material waste, or even having to discard a strip or block because of uneven/too short sides.

The stripology ruler does what it says it can do. The markings are clear and this method of cutting is pretty fast and accurate. I do a lot of 3 Yard quilt patterns and this ruler makes it quick and easy to cut accurate strips of differing lengths. The XL size is great. The ruler does not slip when I cut. BUT...The directions as shown in the picture had 2 typos in the 1/4 cutting section. I used the bottom 2 1/4 line not realizing there were 2 lines for 2 1/4. It was for 2 3/4. The second 1 1/4 line is also wrong. Wow such a waste of fabric - luckily only 6 strips were over cut. This is why I dropped the rating one star. This is a simple typo that should have been caught. Also when I picked up the ruler to move it back 1/4 inch, my fabric did move as I sat it back down. It will take some practice to combat the static electricity that interferes a bit.

I wasn't sure the Stripology XL ruler would be worth the price. It's expensive. But I struggle with cutting strips and squares with just a rotary cutter and regular acrylic ruler, so I decided to give it a try. For the first time ever, I have stacks of squares for a rag quilt that are neat and uniform. Denim, flannel and cotton squares all look great and were easy to cut (4 layers of flannel and cotton, 2 layers of denim--could cut more with a larger rotary blade). The ruler doesn't shift around while cutting, and it's BIG--lots of squares with one "load". I got my entire quilt cut out in just a few hours. I foresee it being very useful for squaring up patchwork blocks, too. I LOVE this ruler and will be looking for more Creative Grids products in the future.
