Compatible and Snapped right in
Snapped right in and recognized right away.I initially gave this a 2 start rating as it was not charging and not holding the charge.But realized that the issue was not with the battery but possibly the smart chip in the adapter that has possibly gone bad.Surprisingly the adapter (this is the original dell adapter) issue causes the charger to be not recognized by BIOS and although it has the right voltage and seems to be providing the power, the battery would not charge and hence would not hold the charge.As soon as I replaced the charger, everything seems to be working fine and battery has full life (a few hours) as expected.Will watch it over next few days to see if there are any issues, but for now looks like it is all good.

Worked perfectly
Worked perfectly right away. Got this after my computer said my last battery was no longer functioning and couldn't be charged. Upon install my computer recognized it as a compatible battery and holds a charge as it should. Have not tested how long it lasts vs expected yet.

I needed a battery for an old laptop. It is still working so I am pleased and it didn't cost a whole lot like the original product battery.

This battery died after 4 months, but they followed through
I purchased a battery in December 19 it is now April 2020. and now the battery is giving my computer error codes. and popup that I could only remove by removing the battery.Edit: Adding 3 Stars back because the customer service to take care of the issue was good. They sent a new battery, which worked.

Dell Co. sent the incorrect battery. Dell indicated out of stock. maybe available in 3 months? I received this battery within 4 days and it worksI can now use my computer again.

Installation instructions somewhat useless
Purchased battery for my Dell laptop. The "installation" instructions to properly calibrate the internal chip were completely useless; the steps they outlined were unable to be followed, except for use the laptop on battery power until exhausted then fully recharge. Recharged and now using battery power successfully, but it looks like the battery is running down faster that original Dell battery. The instructional materials with the battery are not very promising as to life, but we'll see. I use the line cord adapter most of the time anyway.
