Some of the words used in the book are unique in the sense that they are not often referenced in language discussions or analysis, and though they are used copiously they are rarely if ever seen in print, for example take the word fe-im the preposition for combined with the pronoun him, though this word is used by adults and children alike (most West Indian understands the meaning and usage) you will have difficulty finding it printed anywhere else but in this book. West Indian children gain enormous pleasure from these stories, they marvel at being able to see some of the words they use daily in print and take pride in their own unique and beautiful language
