Our Go-To Nutritional Yeast - Here’s Why
We originally started buying Now brand nutritional yeast because it was one of the B-12 fortified brands that reportedly did not contain hazardous levels of lead. We have not, of course, analyzed the contents ourselves but are now in the habit of buying it because of the taste. It has such an amazing nutty, cheesy flavor, I find myself reaching for it to make sauces, add flavor to soup, add dimension to veggie stock (it will turn stock from clear to cloudy), top pasta, and more. Want something extra yummy for a sandwich? Stir Now Nutritional Yeast Flakes and a couple of crushed capers into Veganaise to turn a sandwich into a special occasion. As an added bonus, it adds a wonderful salty taste to food despite the fact it contains a measly 5mg of sodium in a serving. (I keep checking the label because I can’t believe it doesn’t contain salt!) It also adds a lot of flavor to salads, scrambled tofu, beans, and whatnot. But you certainly don’t have to be a vegan or vegetarian to enjoy it! Toss it on pizza, stir it in a casserole, or sprinkle it on soup if you or a family member needs a little extra protein and B-12. Sometimes we even put it in a shaker with granulated garlic and dried herbs and set it out by our pasta bowl so guest can try it as a pasta topping.Have fun and enjoy!

Great, no complaints!
I've used nutritional yeast on my food for years. This brand tastes great. The flakes seem a little stiffer than other brands I've had, but it doesn't take away from anything about it.

Only Supplement you need
As far as I'm aware it's considered a food when it comes to regulation so it's one of the few really regulated by the FDA. It also has a ton of different vitamins in it so it works as a multivitamin. Has cheesy flavors, you know what the means? If you're non-lacto vegetarian then you just found yourself a ingredient for a cheese alternative.Really good, I only use half of a serving because if you check the back you'll see the serving size of 2 spoons also doubles-quadruples the daily recommended intake. Avoid vitamin toxicity people! At the very least spread it out throughout the day for bioavailability.Funny thing to mention, now I haven't bought it but assuming you're only eating half a serving a day that 10 pounds bag would last you almost 3 years.

Great taste, great value.
I have used nutritional yeast for years but the cost of locally available products was straining my budget. I use it in a variety of recipes, but one of my favorite is on popcorn.

Very Good Nutritional Yeast But Not The Very Best
NOW natural foods and supplements are consistently high quality for a little lower price than you may be accustomed to paying. This NOW nutritional yeast gets fairly high marks on all levels. Bragg's Nutritional Yeast definitely tastes better and is even of higher quality and I have not found any nutritional yeast that beats it. That said, the NOW does taste pretty good, and it is one of the best deals out there in terms of price. Additional B Vitamins have been added. If you have Candida albicans, it has been proven that NUTRITIONAL yeast is SAFE and will not affect your Candida albicans, but if you have this condition, DO NOT ingest other yeasts such as brewer's yeast and active dry yeast used in baking. These statements are backed by science: There is a lot of information on this subject, and all reputable sources agree. NOW nutritional yeast is high quality Saccharomyces cerevisiae organisms under tightly controlled conditions, and the Red Star Yeast Company LLC is referenced on the NOW container. All in all, this is good nutritional yeast and gets a lot of 5-star reviews on Amazon, but it does not beat Bragg's. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food And Drugs Administration, and I am not a medical professional.

beneficial superfood
Impressed with the NOW Nutritional Yeast Flakes. The high vitamin content makes it a fantastic multivitamin substitute, and has a cheesy, nutty flavor suitable for dairy free dishes. Also good if you're a vegetarians or have dairy allergies. Some would prefer Bragg's Nutritional Yeast since they might have a slight edge in quality, but NOW’s is a lot more affordable and added B vitamins is a strong selling point. In smaller servings, it helps avoid vitamin toxicity and remains a staple for its nutritional value.

Wonderful cheesy flavor
As vegetarians, we are constantly thinking about how we can add vitamins and minerals to our food and our daughters' food.We started using nutritional yeast regularly after reading Scott Jurek's book "Eat and Run" about his long-distance running and vegan diet. In his book, he has a simple recipe for popcorn that he sprinkles nutritional yeast onto. Now, when we make popcorn for our kids, we pour in a little olive oil and a little nutritional yeast. They love it! My oldest daughter loves to get the yeast all over her hands and lick them.Because the yeast has a cheesy flavor, we add it to tons of foods as a cheese substitute or just to add some more vitamins along with the cheese. Yesterday, I made macaroni and cheese and added about a quarter cup of the yeast along with tofu and cheese to boost protein and nutrients. We also add it to things like broccoli and salads.Because we use nutritional yeast frequently, getting a good quality brand at a good price is important to us. This was the best of both of those that I could find. Great deal on a super-healthy product! My only complaint is that the jar is kind of big so it doesn't quite fit in our wire rack storage system that's on the back of our kitchen door. I have to transfer it to a Mason jar just so I can keep our little kitchen organized.
