I heard someone talking about jerky and it got me wanting it so I went to Amazon and stumbled across this heavenly treat. I saw the picture of the Bacon jerky and I immediately started salivating. The pictures make it seem to appetizing that I thought it would be worth it to try. After cleaning up my drool, I promptly ordered the 1 lb bag because if you're going to go, go all out. I loved the fact that it has simple, natural ingredients and that it is made fresh when you order so I figured it was going to be a treat. Then you add the fact that it won an LA Times award for "Best Homemade Gift" in 2013 and all of the 5 star reviews, I thought this is going to be awesome. Then the packaged arrived and it was quicker than I anticipated, which was awesome! It gave me a few day window and it arrived on the first day of the window. After I peeked through the clear part of the bag I starting drooling again. The only way to stop was to get some of it in my mouth. I opened the bag and there was a sweet smell. The jerky looked great. I put my hand in the bag and I have to admit that I was taken back from the wetness of the jerky. I guess I was expecting it to be more dry but that also meant that it was going to be juicy, which is huge for me. After trying my first piece, I was hooked. The best way to describe this is that it takes like a steak that has been marinating in a sweet sauce. It was so tender that you probably do not even need teeth to chew it. There are literally explosions of flavor in every bite. I looked around my office and thought, I don't want to share any of this because it is soooo good but then I also wanted to share my finding to the entire world! I let some co-workers try and they were hooked. They agreed that this is the best jerky they've ever had. Since my first purchase, I have bought a bag for my parents and I am splitting another one with a co-worker. I will say that if you are expecting traditional jerky, that you will be disappointed because this is not. It is a way better, more moist and flavorful snack that you will not need to rip apart like other jerky. It is expensive jerky but it is worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and give it a try and I promise that you will not be disappointed!

This is fabulous and tastes so good. It's very sticky, but absolutely delicious. It's a little spendy for me, but worth having a treat down then.

It was a little bit soggier than I was expecting, I like my jerky dry but it was right there in the title so that's my fault. Still, it was delicious and I finished it much sooner than I was expecting.

Very unusual taste.Not really to my liking as the fish taste is what lingers and stays for a very long timeTo me it appears undercooked and fatty, causing you to chew quite a bit and never really getting any flavors that are appealing.Definitely do not smell this product as it will turn you right off of it.

This jerky is made with fish sauce. I am allergic to fish. They really should put an allergy warning on the package and indicate fish on their sell page as well. Who would've thought they'd use fish to make BBQ bacon jerky? Fortunately I do not have a severe allergy and only had to deal with hives all over my body for 3 days. That being said, the jerky tasted okay. Don't smell it. Just eat it. It smells way worse than it tastes. The taste of fish lingers on the palate and breath long after the barbecue flavor dies. The fish taste burps up well too. So if you can't handle a fishy aftertaste, this is probably not the product for you. Unfortunately, due to my fish allergy I had to toss the rest of this but at least I was able to taste it.

Howdy shoppers, it's Wild Willy here with a must read before you order review. If you are hankerin' for some candied bacon, then it's TIME TO COWBOY UP! Forget about that sugary crunchy meat candy, and wrangle yerselves up some of this Bak Kwa from this merchant! This is bacon at its finest, slightly sweet, slightly spicy, tender yet a tad chewy, with a mildly charred finish. Why we never came up with this recipe here remains a mystery, but someone in Singapore did ages ago, and really came up with the best way to cook bacon! This product is as good as any in Singapore, and probably the best here in the good 'ol U S of A. You really gotta try this, you will never have any regrets; If you don't try at least a small sack of it, I gar-un-tee that y'all will regret that decision for the rest of your life. Second guessing yourself is never fun. Seems a bit pricey, but given the labour, care and quality of ingredients it is far from pricey. In conclusion, Fantastic, big belt buckle good taste. The bacon was so good that it was hard to stop eating it. I have ordered this bacon before and it does not disappoint.

Asian style jerky is not the same as American-made "Teriyaki" flavored products. It's in a different category, and the flavors might be foreign to western audiences. And while many stores have begun offering "bacon jerky", those are mass produced with massive hunks of dried fat hanging off of them. The Fragrant Foods product seems to take what we Americans love best about our bacon (the belly cut) and qualitatively grills them to where each slice is lean and yet consistently juicy. The jerky is not tough by any means, yet does not crumble apart. Although I have never been a major fan of Asian style jerky, my personal feeling is that Fragrant Foods have managed to one-up the traditional products significantly. This is a very high quality product. The right amount of sweetness and moistness for Asian-style jerky. Might try it with a glass of bordeaux....Further, I had placed a second order for 3 packages, but only 1 arrived. Fragrant Foods apologized for the Holiday madness, offered for me to keep that one packet as a gift, and promptly sent me 3 more.I would have liked this to be less expensive, as I'd buy this en masse and scarf it all down.
