Great product but not enough info
Four stars for being a great product, with -1 star for being difficult to know exactly which kit to buy.If you have any aftermarket positraction carrier, you need larger carrier bearings. You need either LM102949 bearings and LM102911 races (pre-1999 GM), or LM603049 bearings and LM603012 races (2000+ GM). It would be nice if there were a reference somewhere.YKGM8.5HD contains Timken LM102949 bearings and LM102911 races, and Koyo pinion bearings and races. Buy this if your vehicle is 99 or older.YKGM8.6-A contains Timken LM603049 bearings and LM603012 races, with Timken pinion bearings and races. Buy this if your GM vehicle is 2000 through 2008.For newer GM than that, get the YKGM8.6-B.

A MUST Have for a Regear or Rebuild
Yukon has a deserved reputation for quality. I've used these kits for years and always been satisfied. They come with all parts needed for a typical regear or rebuild of a differential. It would be nice if they included the better carrier shims they offer, which don't require you to try and beat a stack of thin shims into the rear when setting carrier bearing preload. The good shims have two thick outer shims that interlock with the thinner shims in between them, and work really well. I always buy them for any rear where the shims are outside the bearing races. A bit more marking compound would also be helpful, especially if you don't have a pinion depth tool and have to run the setup a bunch of times to find proper pinion depth. Finally, a bit better packaging would be nice. The bearings, etc. are almost always loose in the box when I get them because they are too heavy to be held in place by plastic over cardboard alone. Nothing is ever missing or damaged, so its a pretty minor concern, but these small inconveniences and issues are why I rate this at 4 stars instead of 5. Honestly, its better than any other kit like it you're going to buy. I'll add that setup bearings can be very helpful depending on how you are setting up the gears and what tools you have. I just get an extra set of cones and grind the ID out with a carbide cutter until they slip fit. This prevents you from damaging a bearing trying to remove it if the shim under it isn't right, as most pinion bearings are basically blind pressed. If they need to be removed typically I cut off the cage and slot the inner race before splitting it with a cold chisel. Just a couple tips for anyone doing this for the first time.

Perfection
If I could give this product 10 stars I would.Bearing numbers match perfectly, same brand Timken/Torrington as OEM. Extra crush sleeve is reassuring and instructions are super comprehensive. What really impressed me was that Yukon had made their pinion nut washer slightly thinner than OEM and the nut itself slightly longer which gives you an extra few threads. It may only be a small improvement, but its that kind of thinking which makes Yukon a top brand.

Crush shim doesn’t crush
Kit had pretty much everything. The crush spacer differed from the original. Tried to set the pinion and couldn’t get the shim to crush. Placed it in my 12 ton press and it still wouldn’t crush. Manufacture needs to address. I suggest if you buy this kit you buy crush shims from somebody else or your vehicle will end up on blocks for 5 days like mine.

Everything You Need For A Rear Differential Rebuild!
I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado that has a little over 400,000 miles on it and the rear end had started making some bad failing bearing noises. I decided that i needed to have it rebuilt and called the local Chevrolet Dealership to get a quote on having it rebuilt. They quoted me $2400.00 minimum, they said depending on what they found so i decided i would attempt it myself because i could buy all new bearings, carrier group, ring and pinion, seals, gear lube and all the tools i needed to do it for less than $2400.00 and that's what i did. This master rebuild kit had everything i needed to rebuild my rear end and everything was of very high quality. I highly recommend it for anyone attempting to do a rear end rebuild

Quality products for a good price
The only reason I am giving it a 4 stars instead of 5 is that the crush sleeve will not crush to specs when torqued to specs. The manufacture suggests crushing down in a press to just over spec before installing. That worked last time on my other truck, but this time my 12 ton press wouldn't crush it at all. So I ground it down a little, calipered it, assembled it. Took it apart and ground a little more, and so on until it came up perfect.

Can't recommend less
Bolts were wrong, crush sleeve was wrong. I would just buy the parts on their own if I were you since your odds of getting everything you need in this kit are pretty slim.UPDATE: 300 miles later and the pinion seal completely failed, dumped all the gear oil it had in less than a minute. Im just glad I noticed in time, if it had happened on the highway my whole diff would have been toast on top of the fact I now have to buy another seal, crush washer, and more oil.this is the worst review iv ever left on anything and oh boy do I wish it could be worse, 10/10 bad experience

Missing parts, bearings are the wrong sizes, is this the norm for this Yukon kit?
First off, I am VERY disappointed in this kit. It is very expensive and promises to have everything you need to rebuild your ring an pinion, they lied.I am missing one retainer bolt for the Ring gear, had to reuse one of the old "One Time Use" bolts, not happy about that at all. Next both of the case bearing's are to small and I had to buy replacements for both of them. And now to top all of that crap off the rear race bearing is 2,000th to small. Stay the hell away from this manufacture. I will NEVER purchase from them again unless they make this right.I will be letting Amazon know that this seller sales crap!

Wrong kit for application but it said it would fit when ordered.
This kit does not fit my application need to fix the product fitment guide as it said this fit my diff. Now I can’t return it as the ring and pinion I ordered was lost and didn’t show up until after my return deadline for this install kit. Not good feel ripped off.
