Organic Harvest Medley Rice Blend 3.2lbs

I first bought this at Costco a number of years ago, but actually didn't cook much of it until more recently. Once I started fixing it, I found it very delicious, and my husband and I went through the container fairly quickly. When it was gone, I checked at Costco for more, but my Costco no longer carried it. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. Though I have found some other good rice blends, this one stands out. I highly recommend it. I often fix it with steak, and serve a pan sauce with it - which enhances it, but isn't necessary for good flavor. I've cooked it both on the stove top and in my rice cooker, and it has come out perfect every time.

I initially bought this brand rice from my local wholesale store few years ago and that was the best rice I ever had (that was some kind of white organic rice medley). I purchased this from Amazon (paying more than twice what I paid locally) hoping that this would be similar in taste to the prior. The cooking directions on this product is way off, I experimented with different ratios of rice/water, soaking the rice in water before starting cooking, etc. But I never got the rice cooked properly (either under cooked with very hard to chew grains or over cooked with mushy texture). If you follow the cooking directions, I suggest you allow about 90 minutes for a cooked (or something close to cooked) rice - what kind of rice takes this much time get cooked? On some occasions, I had rice grains still in their shells (not sure if this expected on brown rice) which suggests sloppy processing. I also want to mention that it smells really bad while cooking and taste is not good either. Regular basmati rice (non-organic, inexpensive brand) I got from my local international market tastes way much better and costs the fraction.

I like the fact that this is whole grain, but it takes forever to cook this, and the rice ends up heavy and sticky. I think I will stick with my regular brown rice from now on. Taste of this is fine, but it is just too time consuming in my opinion to make.

Came on time. Packaged well and to my surprise white top was OFF. Unsealed. Prayed and prepared for family. Quality control needed. Should ALWAYS be sealed.

I love this rice, but it is too expensive. I wish that I could get it in a local store.

I thoroughly enjoy this rice blend and it is healthier for me rather than eating plain white rice since I am a diabetic. It has a wonderful nutty flavor and chewy texture and goes great with everything.

Love this rice, it comes in a nice jar, its fresh, great taste. I have not seen this anywhere except on amazon but someone told me its sold at costco. It is kind of expensive but I think its worth it. I highly recommend it. This is the 2nd time I purchased it and will purchase again.

The product the was not organic, and the company thought they were being clever by placing an expiration date label OVER the packaging where the USDA Certified Organic logo would have appeared. Perhaps it's because they didn't want me to notice that they were charging me an organic price for a product that WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED.
