Puke puke puke
I am 74 years old and I have never been fortunate enough in my life to have the French liver pate I'm just an old country girl from Appalachia. So I saw this on Amazon and decided it's time for me to explore the rich man's world. Like I said pew pew puke. Now I love fried chicken livers I like hog liver I like beef liver but I couldn't eat this crap. The Underwood liverwurst is fantastic, and a heck of a lot cheaper. Actually I would call it the poor man's pate. The only thing I don't like about it is that little red devil on there with the horns and the Pitchfork not very good marketing for them I don't think. This company also has another product that I ordered French pork liver pate have an opened it yet but I'm sure it's just as terrible. Thing about it is there's no refund so I'm stuck with this crap. So buyer beware don't waste your money unless you've tried this before and like it. Good luck God bless.

Excellent pate considering what's easily available in the USA
Is it as good as what I can get anywhere in France or Spain? No, not at all. Is it, however, way, WAY better than anything I can get in the USA without spending an insane amount of money and a ton of time finding something halfway decent? Yes, absolutely. The texture is quite right, if a tad more fatty than the good European stuff. The taste is less salty, but that's easily fixed - I suggest you put it on a good piece of toast, add a bit of salt and pepper, and herbs if you like it that way (I like adding a bit of cilantro!). For the price, and the ease of finding/ordering via Amazon, this is absolutely worth it; whether you just want to try a good approximation of nice French/Spanish pate, or you just can't wait until your next trip to Europe and you need to scratch that itch. Try it, I think you'll be happy you did.

I was born in Tourcoing, France and am constantly looking for a taste of home. I bought two cans of pate tasted one and threw both out. Nothing close to what I grew up on and what my brother made here in the states.
