This is a handy countertop compost bin that does not allow odors to escape unless the lid is open. Since the lid doesn’t seal I have no idea why the odors don’t escape; I only know that they don’t. We use a compostable liner with it so it stays clean. It is easy to flip the lid open with any part of your hand and the handle stays out of the way until you use it to carry it to your larger container or compost pile. The color is an attractive deep gray that looks good while being unobtrusive. It is sturdy and the lid removes easily for cleaning. We have no complaints and recommend it highly as long as the dimensions work for your space.

Our building just began composting as of April 1st here in NYC. We don’t have a lot of kitchen space but this is the most PERFECT little compost bin for our situation. It actually holds a good amount for us and it’s so easy to use and convenient to take out to the compost bin in front of our building. The best part it looks great, it keeps all the smells inside the bin and it’s super easy to clean. So glad we chose this indoor compost bin!!!

There are so many pluses with this Oxo Easy-clean counter top compost bin:It does clean easily, tho it also stains easily hence only four stars.It mostly hides the compost bags.The lid stays up during use making it very easy to peel, shuck, etc. right into it and easily closes when done with a light touch of a finger.Its appearance is innocuous.Its convenience is amazing.Odor is non-existent when closed.Wish I hadn’t waited as long as I did to purchase.The big downside is it easily stains. In retrospect, the gray may have been the better choice for that reason. As the staining is currently limited to the inside, the white still works better in my kitchen.

For years I've used filtered compost pails that did a poor job. They always had fruit flies, egg pods, and maggots. The filters were hard to clean and even harder to put back in the lid. This pail solves all those problems. There are no filters, no flies and no smell. The interior is easy to clean. I've been using it without a liner for a year and it looks brand new. The lid seals well, but is still easy to flip open and closed. Excellent product.

I’ve had this .75 gallon compost bucket for 18 months, and it’s used daily. I never throw food into my trash. The bucket still looks like new. The lid will stay in an adjustable open position while using it. The lid does not have a snap seal, but it does close so that flies can’t get in. The lid also can be removed when it’s time to wash the bucket. The size is just right for me. It’s usually full in about four to five days, and has a sturdy handle for carrying out to the compost pile. And most importantly, the bucket has not absorbed any odors. I’m very happy with this product.

Big enough to hold a week’s food waste. Small and nice looking enough to sit unobtrusively on the counter next to the sink. Easy to carry outside. Easy to clean. No odors detected.

Why did I not get this sooner‽ I live in an 80-year-old house that doesn't have a garbage disposal. Since starting a garden, this is the perfect addition to my composting effort. Super easy to clean in between uses. No odor (so far). When doing my food prep, it sits in the sink waiting to get fed. Simple design, easy to use.
