So simple, no more guessing, be safe, be smart!
This unit is great, once it arrived I quickly charged it while downloading the app.First a word about privacy, you have the choice of setting up a cloud account and if you want to save data to your health profile on iPhone, I don't like the idea of saving/broadcasting potentially damaging personal data if I can help it so I turned both options off. Legally none of it should be admissible (at least in my state) no reason to be the one to fight that battle. Thankfully the developers do not hobble the app in any way if you choose to not use their cloud services. The unit itself is small with rounded corners it doesn't snag in my pocket and it's slim enough to not print very much when sitting down. The stark white/black helps when it's in my girlfriends' handbag making it easy to find in a darkened bar. It comes with us anytime we might be drinking and away from home. It has rechargeable batteries and they seem to last a very long time additionally the app shows battery level at start-up.Using BACtrack is easy, first, you must wait 15 minutes from the time of your last drink or your readings will be artificially high. Once you are past the 15 minutes just hold the on/off button down until it lights up, open the app wait a few seconds and tap the screen once "BAC test" pops up. The unit warms up then asks you to blow (also a light on the hand held will flash), it might take a few tries to get used to it but once you do it is very easy. Wait a few more seconds and your BAC is displayed. It's "time to sober" is interesting, for me it is usually off by some margin. My only complaint is it has a "need a ride" button that opens your uber app, although it is buried in the settings menu for some reason if a person blows over or even at .06 I wish it would pop up on the results page.Even on nights when I wasn't drinking I've had several friends blow and end up taking uber or waiting the 20-30 minutes to get to the legal limit.Overall this thing is great. The design of the unit and the app are very simple and well done. When potentially dealing with impaired people simple is important. I like knowing what my limits are and knowing when I go past them helps ensure I make the correct choice to drive or get uber.

So convenience, and accurate!
I've tested this against BAC's Professional version; BACtrack S80 Professional Breathalyzer, Portable Breath Alcohol Tester and it is within 0.001 so I consider that very accurate. I love that it's portable and can take it with me wherever I go. The app is slick and easy to use and it's fun to play with friends and guess everyone's level. As other people have posted, once you bring it out, you will have everyone wanting to try it, so if you are concerned about germs, be sure to buy extra mouthpieces BACtrack Mobile Smartphone Breathalyzer Mouthpieces (Pack of 10). (Yes, I've had complete strangers ask to use it.) It says you can test without a mouthpiece, but I've tried and always run out of breath too soon, so I really can't say if it works without a mouthpiece. With the mouthpiece, I've never had a problem of running out of air and neither has anyone else.I personally have not had issues with the Bluetooth, it connects right away. Of course it would be nice to have a display on the device itself, but for it's portability and it is one of BAC's high-end offerings, I chose size over the convenience. I just ensure that before a night on the town I've charged my phone and the breathalyzer and I'm ready to roll. It also comes in a handy little pouch that fits easily in my purse and can hold a couple of mouthpieces too.It seems the majority of the bad reviews are because people are not following the instructions. Have it charged and wait 15 minutes after your last drink you will not get accurate results. I can't stress that enough, wait a minimum of 15 minutes!

MUST for anyone who even has one drink and gets behind the wheel. Also, NEVER drive within 15 minutes of any drink, even on one!
This thing is a life saver!! Not literally in my case, but will be for many. I drink responsibly when I drive. That said, soemtimes an event ends early or you just feel the impact of alcohol more and don't want to rely on the rule of thumb methods (ie one drink per hour). I equate it to the rhythm method for birth control. Works sometimes, but you do it enough and you'll get pregnant. I got pulled over while swerving a tad after looking for something in my car. I had drinks in 7 hours but didn't eat much. Thank goodness the police offiIcer didn't ask if I was drinking and I sounded perfectly fine. however, I was pretty certain I would have been close to the legal limit... I bought one of these instantly the next day and thrilled I only got a speeding ticket. My brothers each got one and they are a blast at parties.. They are tested to be very accurate.! You also learn that your breath is not accurate within 15 minutes of any drink.. EVEN knowing just this and seeing how it rapdly goes down 15 minutes after a drink is enough of a lesson to avoid a false police reading. .Even if you are perfectly legal, DON'T drive within 15 minutes of your last drink or you may find yourself in jail. It also shows you just how reasonable at 0.8% BAC is very reasonable.. You really do feel that you have been drinking at .07, so makes you appreciate the law even more... Driving while drinking, as we know, kills many. Your judgement is off, so you may fool yourself into thinking you are fine.. You won't fool a breathalyzer. You also will get hit with likely $3,000 in insurance addons. Most states have upwards of $3000 in fines on top of that and MOST states have mandatory loss of license. This thing works flawlessly. I keep it charged in my car. There is just no need to play russian roulette with your license, money and lives.. Remember, I am NOT a big drinker and feel it is a really responsible thing for anyone who EVER has a drink and drives to own!!!
