3c natural black/afro hair? STEER CLEAR! possibly the worst brush I have ever encountered.
3c natural black/afro hair? STEER CLEAR! possibly the worst brush I have ever encountered. Bought it as I had one tangle at the back of my hair, now the entire side that I have brushed is just a thick knotted mess that I am having to finger detangle strand by strand

Best brush ever!
This brush is amazing! My hair is a bit past my shoulders and on the finer side, so I got the pink brush. My hair gets tangled SO easily and I feel like I've tried everything. I was skeptical when this arrived. It's different than any brush I've had before and is very lightweight. It's kind of a weird shape too. But I used it that evening and was sold - it literally glided through my hair. It's untangled some super gnarly knots without pulling out my hair either. I would have to clean out my old brush pretty frequently, but I've had this one about a month and haven't had to clean it yet. I also was in a hurry one day and used this immediately after a shower. I normally don't use a brush on wet hair, but this ended up working perfectly and didn't pull or break off any hair at all. You don't even have to use any detangling spray with this brush. Highly, highly recommend!

Use these excellent detangling brushes on wet hair coated with lots of conditioner.
I am recommending this Michel Mercier Detangling Brush to everyone. I use the brush to detangle my hair after washing and conditioning. I start on the ends of my hair when detangling, not at the root near my scalp. The bristles in this brush are very short and the brush head is wide and round. I consider this brush design to be great because it helps to avoid as much breakage as possible. I always leave lots of conditioner on my wet hair when brushing to detangle. Because I am right handed, I lay the ends of my wet hair against the palm of my left hand and hold the detangling brush in my right hand. Brushing against my left palm to detangle the ends first is imperative. No matter what section of my hair shaft I am detangling, I always brush my hair while it lays against the palm of my hand. Of course I experience shedding of my hair but less than any other style of brush. The Michel Mercier Detangling Brush is the best ever. I use the brush recommended for thick hair because I have 4C kinky hair that happens to be ten inches long in the crown of my head.

Actually works!
My teen son has extremely curly hair and we struggle with keeping the knots out. He has a sensitive scalp and eczema, so that doesn't help. Because of that, sometimes he will put off brushing through the curls and he gets these "dreadlocks" and they are AWFUL to get through. This brush is absolutely AMAZING!!!! We sat down prepared to struggle through his curls in a time consuming and painful manner as usual. Instead we got through it in less than half the time, with minimal pain. I wish we'd found this brush sooner!

Not far off the mark
So I've seen this brush for a while but always talked myself out of buying it. It's a frivolous purchase, but I'm frivolous occasionally. I got it this afternoon and I don't hate it. It seems like a cheap construction - all plastic, lightweight (like, no weight), and it feels like one good drop on a hard floor would kill it. That being said, it does detangle rather easily.I have fine, blonde hair and often spend the better part of my morning trying to unsnarl the knots before I get on with my day (even if I braid my hair before bed, it still knots up). My normal brush (the Conair version of the Wet Brush) pulls and rips and possibly does more harm than good. A lot of hair ends up in that brush - I clean it every week, it seems.Though I've only used the Michael Mercer brush on dry hair so far, it feels like an improvement already. I'm not sure how, but the varying height in bristles (also plastic) does appear to not pull or rip my hair nearly as much. It does still pull some (I think with any brush, that would be hard to avoid entirely) and I do still find hair in the brush, but it's not the amount as with my normal brush. After one afternoon with it, it feels gentler on my hair and scalp than normal.UPDATE: This is not a brush for wet hair. I've attempted to use it twice after a shower and always end up reaching for my normal brush because this one is not very well suited for wet hair - even fine wet hair. This is not a brush for styling. My job requires me to put my hair back all day and it's difficult to even get it into a ponytail with this brush. That being said, as a brush that advertises itself as a detangler, it works very well. That's why I still give it 4/5 stars - it does exactly what it said it should. It detangles fine hair with very little difficulty. However, if you're looking for the end-all be-all of brushes, this is not the brush for you.

No fighting to get my daughter’s hair brushed!
My daughter was blessed with medium fine hair but SO much of it that it was a beast to brush. She also likes to keep it loose so she was dealing with mats and tangling. She would fight and cry when it was time for me to brush her hair; and if she did it herself she would not get down to the bottom layer. With this brush, she does it herself, we don’t have to threaten her with hair cuts, she gets down to the bottom layer and her hair looks great!

I call it wonderbrush!
When I decided to "go natural" and stop using relaxers I was not fully prepared for the adjustment, but a friend recommended this detangling brush (the blue colored brush for thick hair) after I kept complaining about how long it took to comb my hair out--before buying this brush, it sometimes took over an hour to detangle my hair, now it takes about 15-20 minutes. I LOVE this brush.

This brush is literally the BEST brush to use even right after a shower
My 2 go to brushes are in my picture. So sad my son broke mine after TWO years!! Now I’m buying another one because u can’t live without this thing! Use it to brush ur hair BEFORE you style it. And no, this is not a brush u use for blow drying, but it’s GREAT for brushing after u shower. Use a copper plated round brush after using this brush to style your hair. This detangler brush is good for exactly what it says it does, detangling! LOVE it!

Cheap and rigid. Not for fine hair for sure
I purchased one of these brushes for fine hair. It's not gentle to the scalp as they claim at all, it's actually very rigid and not pleasant when brushing hair. It's cheap plastic and I may not be wrong if I'll say that even they claim these brushes are different for particular hair type - they will be actually all the same, just in different color. Not impressed at all and there is definetely no specific technology used, cheap plastic bristles and cheap plastic body to them. Not worth the money and will not buy again. In the video I show how 'flexible' the bristles are. First I do not put much pressure to them as it will be exactly how they will go on the scalp and there is no flexibility in there, they are and feel very rigid. Flexibility will start appearing only when I put much pressure on it, which you not normally do when you brush your hair. Also by the sound you can hear that there is no quality in these bristles. So disappointed!
