These 2 boxes of American Ginseng Slices from Zen Ginseng arrived to me wrapped in plastic. The boxes felt to be bulging, packed tightly. The exterior of the boxes are well decorated and also feature some information about the company, that the American Ginseng (Panax quinquefolis) Slices inside the package are from a farm in Wisconsin, information about American Ginseng itself, and so on.Judging by the appearance of the American Ginseng Slices through the window on the front of the box I expected the American Ginseng Slices to be tightly sealed within a bag of some sort. Instead, these American Ginseng Slices are packed within a plastic tray with a lid. Behind those slices within the tray were a few layers of bubble wrap to make the box appear more tightly packed with American Ginseng Slices. I did get what was advertised on the front of the box, though – 4oz of American Ginseng Slices. So, the packaging is larger than necessary, and the only reason I can figure for that is to allow more space on the box’s exterior for text. I’ve since transferred the American Ginseng Slices to a sealed container.With these American Ginseng Slices the appearance, aroma, and taste is proper, so, I have no complaints, I got what I expected – 2 boxes, each containing 4oz of American Ginseng Slices.

I do an alternate fasting diet and I favor an African herb tea as it has great antioxidant effects. Unlike many teas there is no caffeine, and while that's good for some, I like the energy boost. This is especially so when I'm not eating on the alternate schedule and drink the tea to stay hydrated. I don't like black coffee, so I switch to tea on fasting days because I don't add sweeteners, milk or chocolate to teas like I do coffee. This Ginseng is perfect for putting in my "cheater" K-Cups and brewing the African Tea with a side of Ginseng. Maybe not surprising to regular users, but you can feel energetic without the "jitter" from caffeine, when using Ginseng. A virtual huge quantity for the money enough for months for the whole family (although younger kids probably not so much). Recommended.

I have often heard about the benefits of Ginseng but have never tried it, so when I got the opportunity to try this American Ginseng from Wisconsin, I was anxious to give it a try. The first thing I noticed upon opening the first package, what seemed to be a great deal of product turned out to be just a thin layer on top of quite a bit of bubble wrap. I really don’t think that is necessary as it makes it look like you are getting a bunch of Ginseng in the box. After opening you will want to put the remaining Ginseng in an airtight container as storage in the packaging this came with is not going to keep it fresh. I tried chewing a few pieces and did not find it too unpleasant. I found drinking it in a tea more appetizing. After drinking the tea, I did feel more energized yet not anxious. I like this product, but I think the price is high for the amount of Ginseng that you receive.

This American ginseng root product is excellent. It comes in thin, quarter-size slices that are perfect for tea, cooking, or tinctures.The potency is quite strong, and the American ginseng roots used in this product are supposedly harvested at six years of age, which is when they are at their highest level of potency and ginsenoside content. I definitely feel stimulated and energized after using consuming 1-2 grams of this root.It's farmed in Wisconsin, and is genuine high quality panax quinquefolius.Overall, if you are looking for a genuine American ginseng slices, this product is an excellent option. I find it very energizing and perfect for enhancing focus and for taking before cognitively demanding tasks. It's not as convenient to take as capsules or extract in my opinion, but it's the most traditional and least processed form there is.
