Full disclosure: I have just received a refund from the manufacturer for my purchasing their Basecamp bike helmet as an incentive to write this review. However, this refund happened **before** the writing of this review **and** the manufacturer is reading the contents of this review just as you are reading this. Review: When compared with my current Bell bike helmet, the Basecamp bike helmet is indeed a couple of ounces lighter and has the additional features of a thumb-wheel size adjustment, padded chinstrap, and the rear safety LED lights that can blink either together or sequentially. The safety light unit uses a coin CR1616 lithium battery which is included along with a spare one. The inner lining of the helmet is held in place with low-profile velcro spots so that it can be removed as needed to either clean and/or replace. I would've given an extra star if an extra lining were provided along with the spare CR1616 battery mentioned earlier but Amazon limits these reviews to only 5 stars so the manufacturer really doesn't have an incentive to go an extra mile here.

I got this for my grandson, age 7. You can see in my picture that this is just a bit large for his head at this time. BUT - I do like this hemet, and he loves the color. It's a very bright and vibrant neon green. He rides his bike to school so I wanted him to have a bright helmet. I did also get this for the light which he insists on turning on during the day.

This helmet has exceeded my most optimistic expectations. I believe some of the negative reviews that I have read are for a different product. This helmet has better fit, comfort, cooling and finish than my far more expensive Giro helmet. It took less than two minutes to get it adjusted to a perfect fit after unboxing it. The color of this product is so much more vivid than the picture. The visor was black instead of white and looks much nicer. The removable lining's padding is higher quality than my Giro, the helmet is lighter than my Giro, and has a bug net to keep the critters from nesting in your hair. Okay about the rear light... it took a few tries to get the light to work until I realized the clear plastic cover has to be pressed hard enough to deflect and allow contact with the internal switch. I'm really going to get a lot of use out of this incredibly inexpensive helmet. I'm a 6 foot tall husky dude with average head size and this helmet can still be adjusted to be loose on my head. Amazon shipped this product in a box with plastic bubble wrap to keep the helmet from damage. I recently purchased another road bike and this color scheme is a perfect match. I love the fact that there is no 'basecamp' logo.

This is a very lightweight and thin feeling helmet! When on your head the helmet has a nice fit! It does have a nice adjuster in the back where you can spin it and allow it to fit better. The padding and the foam are both really comfortable and give you plenty of protection!The helmet has a really cool integrated LED light on the back of the helmet so it’s an awesome added feature. It also has an added sun visor to protect you from the sun! :)The helmet is also made from washable materials so you can easily rinse it off in the sink and let it dry if it gets a little dirty!

And I've had at LEAST a dozen. Why I love it:1. It's SUPER lightweight--light enough for me to have twice forgotten I had it on. This is what makes it most special--a major winner for me.2. Awesome quality--feels sturdy, everything is firmly attached that's supposed to be, and it's well made. I've had helmets where the padding falls off or the light on the back comes apart.3. Adjustable--sometimes I wear braid extensions and it becomes harder to get/keep helmets on because of the extra hair. I have other helmets I can't even wear depending on my hairstyle. This one adjusts nicely, no matter how big or small my head may be at any given time. LOL4. LOVE the light on the back!!I don't dislike a single thing about this helmet.

The helmet is light weight and fits well. The chin strap is very comfortable.What sold me is the blinking light.

The bright colors of this helmet stand out nicely, but what I love the most is how easy it is to get the perfect fit. There is a dial to turn in the back to adjust the tightness around your head and straps to adjust under your chin. A piece I find of particular interest is the padding that attaches to the strap going under the chin. This padding keeps the buckles and straps from digging into the chin. There is a light on the back which even comes with an additional battery. The light can be easily operated without removing the helmet. Push once for strobe lights going from top to bottom, twice for flashing, and again for always on. Perfect for being seen at night.

I'm very happy with this helmet. I have a larger head circumference and am always challenged to find a helmet that is fitting correctly and comfortable. After getting the straps in the right place, I had the helmet adjusted in less than a minute! The fit was great!. The added safety light to me is a bonus, and will def be useful.Airflow through the helmet is very good. I ride in FL, where the heat and humidity is always high. I noticed that the air flow through the top is very good and head kept cool during ride.I have had no issues in the very short time I've owned this helmet and have no negative comments

This helmet is so light weight. Glad it came with safety certification as per canadian guidelines. My son loves the bright color and he feels it looks cool. A bit tricky to turn on the blinking light at the back since the button is too tiny and hidden. The adjuster knob at the back does a good job to keep the helmet but not sure it will accomodate all head shapes.

Great price for quality product. Very stylish for either road or mountain biking. Very pleased.

Helmet is perfect exactly what I was wanting at a great price.
