Now they do work and come apart easily! Just a bummer it wasn't put together properly ...
The shears arrived with the hinge cap detached. I tried to snap it in place with my bare hands but wouldn't stay on so u used the bottom of a bottle to smash it in place. It worked and cap is secured but now there's a dent on the cap of my brand new scissors. Now they do work and come apart easily! Just a bummer it wasn't put together properly when it arrived.

Affordable and functional, these make the cut!
BOTTOM LINE: Good price, solid construction, and cuts well. The extra "functions" are good enough for occasional use, and the magnetic holder will benefit those who use kitchen shears on a daily basis. They feel like they should hold up over time (too soon to tell), but for less than one Andrew Jackson, why not give it a shot? My last shears cost 4x the price and had no bonus functions.Full Review:I've pretty much destroyed my last set of kitchen shears, so when I saw these on Amazon I figured it was time for an upgrade. These are a good bit cheaper than the "elite" shears they are competing against, and I'm always afraid these all-in-one tools will end up being a jack-of-all-trades, master of none type deal. After all, what I really need is a good set of scissors, the rest is fluff. So far, these are pretty good!Cutting and Feel:They aren't as heavy and solid feeling as the full metal shears. I don't think that's a quality issue, it's just simple physics, and metal handles are heavier than rubber. That said, they still feel solid, I don't detect any flimsiness or wobbling in the design. The blades have good contact and you get that satisfying, steady sssccccccrrrrrrrrcccccccchhhhhh sound when you use them. I only use my kitchen shears for food applications, so I can't tell you how they cut through packaging or tin cans, but they work well (so far) on soft herbs and hard vegetables. I'm guessing they will work well for non-kitchen uses, but obviously that will wear the blades out sooner. The handle is comfortable and easy to grip. Being able to take the shears apart makes cleaning a snap. I put mine in the dishwasher to clean and sterilize (high heat), and that works better when they are taken apart.Magnet holder:It works. It doesn't move around much, though I would still like a more powerful magnet to stay absolutely locked in position. If you need quick access to your shears it is a perfectly usable solution. I keep mine in a drawer, and even if I decided to keep them out, the green handle doesn't particularly match the kitchen. It's a nice feature if you want it.Everything Else:I haven't scaled a fish or cut bones with it yet. I'll add those to the review once I have. The battle opener works just like the bottle opener on a swiss army knife, which if you've used one you know it isn't great, but it will get a bottle open in a pinch. The nutcracker will crack nuts. If you consider walnuts a critical part of the food pyramid you'll probably want a dedicated nutcracker. If you're like me and eat walnuts about as often as people born on Feb 29 celebrate birthdays, these will work and save you the cost of buying a separate nutcracker. The flathead screwdriver is also like a swiss army knife. It works, but it's awkward to use since the shears aren't exactly shaped like a screwdriver. Honestly the screwdriver is probably the most gimmicky feature, but so far it hasn't negatively affected normal use.If you have any questions, please leave a comment. I'll update the review as I use more features or if they start falling apart!

Good shears, but not "heavy duty"
I needed to replace a pair of simple heavy-duty shears with something equivalent. The website calls these shears "heavy duty," perfect for cutting small bones," and I saw that some reviews described it as right for this purpose. However, I found it difficult to cut through the rib bones of even a small chicken or cut a breast in half, which I consider the minimum requirement for "heavy duty kitchen shears." Part of the problem may be that the blades of these shears are only about 4" long; the one I'm trying to replace had 5" blades. I was also alarmed when I placed it in the kitchen sink to wash it and it came apart of its own accord. I haven't tried to use it for any of its other functions; my review is based entirely on how well it does or doesn't do the only job I needed it for. Since it doesn't work for that purpose, I'm returning it.On the plus side, it's nice looking, the handles are moderately easy to grasp (I wear a size 8 woman's glove, which is large; don't know if the openings would be large enough for a big man, though), and the magnetic sheath worked fine when I placed it on the side of a metal cabinet, a welcome feature, since I wouldn't have had to go rummaging in a drawer when I needed scissors. If it had longer blades, I'd give it 3 stars, though only as a kitchen scissors, deducting 1 star for the "heavy duty" name and another for the lack of a safety catch on the blades, but might recommend it (to women) for its convenient magnetic sheath.

Easy to clean and useful
I bought this item and had issues with the magnets sticking it to my refrigerator. I asked them if this was normal and they said it was not normal and to try another side of the fridge. It worked (sort of). I did find a spot on top of the oven hood that works perfectly. I didn't know this until many months later but they refunded my entire purchase. I will definitely buy these again for gifts and/or whenever these shears happen to dull and I'll need another (I cut everything with these things and it still works great).I will say these shears work awesome and are so easy to clean. It also has so many other features that I tend to forget how cool this device is.Thumbs up!

I like these kitchen shears well enough
I like these kitchen shears well enough, although they could be a tad sharper. They come apart easily for cleaning but stay together no matter what task. The holder is convenient I suppose, but my kitchen is small and the refrigerator isn't in the perfect spot for storing them, so I don't use it much. The color is bright and easy to spot, so I'm never standing there looking for the scissors in a sea of food prep utensils. All in all, they're a good product for the money, not as well balanced as some I've used, but that's a small gripe. If I needed them for heavy duty, daily work, I don't know that they would be my first choice. For normal kitchen work, they're fine.
