Absolutely worth the money.
Recently i bought my dirt cheap first car which is a 2004 Suzuki Alto and the first thing i needed is get a better sound systemas the old 20 year old paper speakers had no soundstage whatsoever and the head unit it had seriously lacked quality and also functions. I decided to go with the Pioneer MVH-S320BT for the head unit after reading a lot of good reviews about performance and it had all the functions i needed. For the speakers i first planned to get JBL Stage3 4" speakers but i needer speakers with only 2 mounting tabs and doesn't have any appropriate power tools to cut the extra tabs off so i looked for a solution in this price range that had easy to remove tabs and this is how i found the Kicker CS 4" speakers. I've had a bit of research but there wasn't a lot of information available online about these speakers and what I've found was either prising the quality of the speakers or complaining about them arriving broken. So i took the gamble and bought these and i have to honestly say that the speakers are amazing and perform as good as i hoped for and better than i imagined. Obviously don't expect proper Bass response from this size even if it's advertised as "full range". The "40hz response" shouldn't be taken seriously but the speakers perform really great down to 80hz. They definitely need a good EQ setup to get the best out of them and if it's done properly, thay are completely usable standalone without a subfoower for most music genres. For rock, acoustic and vocal centered music they are brilliant but when listening to something "Random Access Memories" the lack of proper bass response really shows. With the proper tuning you can get some sub-bass out of the speakers but it won't be anything accurate but muddy and the different frequencies will come through without any tonal difference narrowed down like there's either low end humming or no low end humming, but hardly any distinguishable notes. For non-nitpicky users they will do great and far beyond what you would expect from 4" speakers. The mid-range and high end are crisp clear and I'd say i couldn't find any frequency range above 120hz where these speakers wouldn't perform excellent. Every note and tiny detail comes out as clean as my $200 3.5" active studio monitor pair. Can't wait to get a subfoower to complete the frequency response in my car but even until then I'll be happy to daily drive these speakers even standalone in the 2 hours I'm driving daily during my commute. The build quality is also excellent. I slipped my hand while installing the speakers and trying to force them into their cutout in the car and the screwdriver i was holding impacted the main membrane with forces i wouldn't expect any speaker to survive. These ones didn't even get scratched. I'm new to car audio so to speak but Kicker already earned a really good place in my heart.
