Great straws
I keep the straws in my car for moments when fast food places give me paper straws. Yuck! The straws don’t interfere with the taste of the drink. And they hold up great in the liquid. Very surprising eco-friendly products. They aren’t sturdy if you try to break them in your hands. But if you just put them in the straw hole of any drink container they do fine.

Nice alternative
So personally i despise paper straws, with how quickly they fall apart and become mushy with in a short term use. The bamboo and metal straws are great for home use, but i would feel bad using these outside of the house and having to carry around a semi dirty metal straw, or having to throwing away the bamboo ones that can be cleaned and reused(which with their cost, i do).In steps these straws. I was hesitant at first since being straw, I was worried it might impart a taste in the drink used. So far I have tried the straws in non carbonated drinks, and carbonated, and I have to say I'm pleased with the results. nearly 3 hrs of sitting in the non carbonated, and the end wasn't mushy or slimy. roughly 2 hrs in the carbonated drink, and while it was a little soft, wasn't mushy either. the non carbonated didn't impart flavor, while the carbonated did at first, but was very subtle, and either dissipated or my taste dulled to it quickly, so after 2 sips it was fine.for true one time on the go use, these are coming with me.

Good alternative!
I got these straws for two purposes - because they fit our Moana birthday theme and I hated paper straws and our household doesn't use disposable plastic ones if we can help it, and I didn't want to use ones we had to wash for a birthday party. These worked so well and while they're pretty easily broken/split by toddlers & young kids who used them as swords, there was no guilt for tossing them either in the trash can or for them being dropped & left in the back yard. The only thing that I found odd/disagreeable was that when you get them, I "tested" one by blowing through it, and a powder came out. I am assuming that it's basically the grass, since dried grass can be dusty, but I had to instruct my guests to give their straws a good blow or rinsing it before putting it in their drink. I did forget to do this to one subsequently and did get a different taste, but it was only there the first 2 sips.Overall, it's a good straw, doesn't get mushy or slimy or affect a drink (even after sitting for 24+ hours which did happen; the straw got soft, but did not break down), and I didn't mind the price for the environmentally friendly convenience of these.

Pleasantly surprised at durability
I remember using paper straws growing up, and they would end up getting soggy and falling apart. I was reluctant to try these straws, but my granddaughters were asking that I stay away from plastic straws so I decided to try these.I was pleasantly surprised At how durable they were. You do have to be careful and not put a lot of pressure on the straw or squeeze it and this will cause it to crack. It is still issuable if that happens. They are made from grass and have no odor to them and if left in liquid over night they do not get soggy or fall apart. I will be getting more.

Environmentally safe alternative
I really don't believe plastic drinking straws are a major environmental issue although at least one congested sea turtle may disagree. Plastic water bottles, now that's likely an issue. But I bought these to investigate if they would make bee houses for mason bees. They are a good diameter and I think I will cut them in half and make double the bee domiciles. They are a bit fragile but will work for bees. For drinking, they will be a one time use for any kid - they crack easily. I would not suggest they for very young children as they splinter too easily. Save the bees!

Much better than paper OR plastic!
Awesome straws... they look great, VERY natural appeal. Use then toss them without guilt! They are sturdy and they do not get soggy easily. I have even washed and reused them with no issues. They have no flavor or scent when using them... if you stick your nose in the box they do have a light grass smell. The diameter of the straws varies slightly within the box but overall they are on the small side of normal... each one is unique.

Planet friendly straws that aren’t terrible!
Planet-friendly straws that aren’t terrible! I have sensitive teeth and love straws. Paper ones melt, weird biodegradable composites melt, these grass straws don’t— I’ve even accidentally left one in a glass of ice overnight and it was still structurally sound in the morning. They’re a little more brittle than plastic, but I’ve only had one crack. They’re even washable and reusable.
