A delight from page one
Take My Breath Away by Christie Ridgway is a wonderful story of taking a chance on love.Poppy Walker has her heart set on restoring the families resort. Though her siblings are dead set against it, Poppy is willing to give it a try. When a guest arrives looking for a place to stay and offers to pay more then what its worth to stay there. Who is she to argue when his cash will go a long way for her to realize her dream. But in no way is she letting another charmer work his way into her heart.Hollywood hot shot Ryan Hamilton needs a place to hide for the month of March. A personal tragedy has him dreading the anniversary of his greatest loss. The remote cabins seem like the perfect place to stay. Ryan wasn’t expecting the resort owner to be so attractive. When the weather takes a turn for the worse they are forced to spend time together. Their attraction is something neither can ignore. But when Ryan’s Hollywood past comes to town to rear its ugly head will Poppy be able to see past the tabloid stories to the real man beneath?Take My Breath Away is an absolute gem. I couldn’t read it fast enough. Loved Poppy and Ryan’s siblings they were pesty enough to feel like real family. Loved Poppy and Ryan’s path to love and the change in them both. Looking forward to the next story in this new series.

Great emotional read!
Poppy is trying to rescue her family's tumble down cabins with a very limited budget & the help of her very young son. When someone wants to rent one before they are ready, she tries to say no but he offers an outrageous sum. How is she supposed to know he's Ryan Hamilton, a celebrity bad boy? Ryan is trying to hide out for the month of March. He can't believe he's found someplace so out of the way & someone who doesn't know who he is.Christie Ridgeway can set the scene & draw you into the plot from the very beginning. This book had it all - funny scenes like the leaky roof, drama with the storm & the ransom, chemistry between Ryan & Poppy, vulnerability from Ryan's past & broken innocence from Poppy's youthful mistakes. The characters are well developed & Poppy's five year old son Mason adds an additional dimension. Another good book from a great writer.

Good story with some ups and downs
I've been binge reading Ms Ridgway's older books because I love the way she writes. I'm not sure when this was written but it lacks the flow of her other work. There were some chapter's where bits of a secondary character's (the H's brother) screenplay are inserted before said secondary character continues romancing the h's cousin. A little disconcerting. Basically the main story follow's the path of the h, who is a single mom, trying to restore the family's cabins on a mountain near a lake. The h had had a summer romance with a rich holidaymaker, who wasn't interested in being a father. The h hasn't had it easy raising her little boy alone with no financial support from the baby daddy. She's a hard worker but struggles to make ends meet by doing various jobs. The H is a child actor grown up with a tragic back story of having lost his son about 4 years prior to the start of this story. The author always makes me invest in her characters but I did lose patience with the H and his March fling with the h. March is a nightmare month for the H, which he tries to survive each year. The h was very sweet and patient with the H but his stubbornness, in resisting love, wore on too long in my opinion.

I found this story a good introduction to the series
I found this story a good introduction to the series. Poppy is a single mom with a adorable son. Ryan was an interesting character with a tragic past. The circumstances of their meeting were entertaining. I loved the dialogues and the way their relationship developed. The relationship with her son and Ryan was definitely full of feel good moments. The side story of Linus and Charlie was fun and helped introduce the family and backstory for the town. The book was a fun and quick read.

Just OK
This was an OK book. She has done much better with others. The main story with Ryan and Poppy was very slow and repetitive. It was also hard to believe (unrealistic to me) that Poppy did not know who Ryan was or his tragic story. Yes, she did not watch TV but does she not read a newspaper, a magazine, or even the trashy magazines covers while standing in line at the grocery store? Do her sisters and friends not talk about popular culture when she is around! The sub plot romance was much better! It should have been the main plot. Because I normally like books from Christie Ridgway I will read the next book in the series and hope it is up to her normal standards.

excellent reading material
I have enjoyed most any book by this young lady :) her "Love Shack Series " was awesome...However we are supposed to discuss this book ,LOL.. This book is quite a romance book, it's also about family relationships and learning to live life as it is, not as we would wish. It is also about learning to accept help and love from the people around us. There is a great deal of growth shown by both Poppy and Ryan as they see that life can hold joy as well as disappointment. another great book by Ms Ridgway

Loved this book
I adore a book that makes me feel emotional. This book had my emotions all over the place. Although this book was predictable from the beginning it was so well written I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end. Christie Ridgway has a way of making you pull for the characters. I love the anticipation of their journey to realize they found their one true love.
