The end game felt chaotic, but overall great!
So I have only played through once at this point. Game mechanics were a bit much to explain to a group the first time out, but after a couple of turns everything felt substantial and enjoyable. It was a good type of frustrating as you are always able to do just less than you would like per turn!It was hard to determine who was "winning" throughout the game. Also, the end game seemed rather chaotic as the tier 3 floors were being snapped up in a hurry! If you have played Power Grid, it is similar to the rushed ending in that game.Overall, our group enjoyed the game and we look forward to trying it again!

Great game on the microeconomics of running a company
True, there are abstractions with any game, but this game makes players really feel like they are doing what it takes to run a small company and make it grow into a real, "going concern." Labor, marketing, PR, production, training, expansion, consultants,... it's all there and, most importantly, it's all very fun!

Fantastic Game
Looking forward to the expansion. It does a phenomenal job offering an immersive experience regarding basic business topics. An awesome educational tool. Fun to play with my kids.

Love this game!
This isn't the easiest game to pick up right out of the box. It takes time to learn. It takes time to teach. But when you "get it" it's super fun. So much strategy. The more players you have, the more the game changes, but it's still extremely fun with two players. Buy it. Now.

Excellent Advanced Worker Placement Game
Ground Floor is a great game where you run a manufacturing business. In the game, you grow from one employee (you) to up to 5 employees (plus an intern if you'd like). Each turn, you choose how each of these employees will spend their time. Will they research new products? Build existing product? Advertise? Hire Consultants? etc...All your decisions determine whether or not you have products to sell, and whether or not those products will sell at all. There are two types of 'currency' used in the game to buy and make things... dollars and information. Having the right amount of money alone is not enough to get you to the top... you also must have the right info on hand.Along the way, you will be faced with decisions about what type of facilities to build in your office building... should you expand to have more manufacturing capacity? or splurge on that corner office you've always wanted? This game is especially fun with 4 or more players, as it become much more realistic with more competitors trying to get their product to market and command the highest prices the market will bear. Play time is fairly long, with most of our games lasting at least 2 hours.Note: I would not recommend this game to those who are new to complex board games. It is fairly complicated. If you are new to board games and want to get started with a simple worker placement game, start with something like Lords of Waterdeep.

A very good, well designed game, but don't mistake what kind of game it is.
Ground Floor is a tight, well designed, balanced worker placement/engine building game. I'm also pleasantly surprised how well it works and how different it plays over its entire range of number of players. A three player game will have very different dynamics than a six player game, due to markets, running into limits on actions, and so on.However, don't buy this if you're looking for some kind of business simulator or heavy economic game like Le Harve or, maybe, Acquire. The closest I can come up with for a comparison would be Viticulture, but there are some big differences.Anyway, it's a game that's well worth a look and worth playing. If you enjoy medium-to-heavy worker placement games, give this one a shot.

Superb Worker Placement Game
(Disclaimer: I own the Kickstarter version of the game. Final product may vary)Ground Floor is an excellent addition to the worker-placement genre. The core conceit of the game is the management of various resources, most notably time, as a means to build a prestigious business. Financial success is, interestingly, not the primary way to win, although it can definitely be an avenue to victory. The game components are something of a mixed bag. The various player cards and tiles are excellent and amusingly designed. The various player markers, however, are boring, colored pieces of wood. Overall quality is high. The instructions could be clearer in several places (it's never noted that you must train an employee in my version of the rules, for instance).Nonetheless, high quality, would recommend to any board gaming enthusiasts I know.
