Works Great with fast ice.
I spent a lot of time reviewing the three models here at Amazon. Last month, I purchased a water pressurizing pump two months ago to hook up to bottled water at my cabin where my well water quality is not the best. I have the water bottle on top of this freezer and its working perfectly. It makes a nice size ice, and quickly. This unit is also a freezer so there is no melting of ice. I've only had it a short time but I'm happy with it. The instructions don't work very well on how to connect the water line. They want a licensed plumber to do it. There was an adapter I had to figure out on connecting a plastic hose to the water inlet. It doesn't leak so I'm hoping I did it correctly.

Ice in Texas!!
It has been about a year since we purchased this Ice maker. I live inn Texas so trust me when I say we use a lot of ice. It makes so much Ice we sometimes have to empty it into bags. And very fast! It makes a little bit of noise but is hardly noticeable in my kitchen. My brother bought one that was rather expensive but this one was very reasonable and I couldn't be happier. It does require a water source but my husband, who is not a handyman, installed it in half a day.

REVISED REVIEW - IT'S WORKING JUST FINE
Original review: At first I thought this was going to be a great ice maker. I purchased it in July and it is now the end of August and it has quit making ice. As I did not keep the original box, I am unable to return it. Money down the drain. Do not purchase! REVISED REVIEW - turns out it needed to be unplugged and defrosted. Make sure after defrosting that the arm is completely down. There was very little ice build up on the side of the unit, but enough that I guess it was time. We had been putting it through some extensive use for about a week completely emptying it about 3 times.

you had better know how to use tubing swage pieces
I waited a long time until posting my thoughts. It is suggested that a "licensed" plumber do the installation. Really? But, you had better know how to use tubing swage pieces. You will have to purchase one for the supply end of the water tubing. I further insured that there was plenty of air circulation around the unit. It has been running for about four months now, without a problem. You DO have to plan a defrosting on some schedule. For our application, we turn off the unit, raise the ice bar, remove the ice tray and place a towel in the unit with the door open once a month, overnight. The next day ensure the unit is dried out, put the ice tray back in and lower the ice bar and within less than an hour, we are back in business. I compare it to the ice maker found in most home freezers. Adequate for household use, but if you want more, bag some and keep in the freezer for those occasions.

Great ice maker - but died after 2 years
I searched and searched everywhere for a drain-less, under counter ice maker, and this was the only model I could find. So I bought it and installed in my wet bar. Installation was easy - just used a standard ice maker hose (like you use on a refrigerator) and plug it in to an electrical socket. The first day, it filled up completely within 24 hours. After several months, it is running great. The ice is in half-moon shaped cubes, and is somewhat soft. The compressor kicks on periodically to keep it frozen, but since I have it under the counter, I barely hear it (I don't hear it at all when the TV is on). When full, it holds a decent amount of ice (I'd say about one Igloo Playmate cooler full).I can't believe these are not more popular. I don't understand why all other ice makers have drains - so you make the ice, then slowly watch it melt away. Not efficient and the potential for plumbing/leak issues is high. This little ice maker is simple, easy, and cheap. Highly recommend.UPDATE: Bought in 10/2013, in 05/2016 it died. Started making very loud rattling noises any time the compressor kicked on. I took it apart and reassembled, finding nothing loose. That stopped the rattling for half a day, then it began again. It is something inside the sealed refrigerant system, so I can't repair it. Had to throw it out. Should have figured it would not last long given the price compared to competitors. Ran perfectly up till then, so if you're willing to buy something you know will die 2 years later, buy it. Lowering from 5 to 3 stars due to lifespan.

Item broken when received. Water enters the ice cube ...
Item broken when received. Water enters the ice cube tray and leaks out before it can freeze. Ice tray connection to the sidewall appears to be broken. Ice maker gets cold, but makes no ice cubes. This is the second we've purchased. First one worked overtime to provide ice for over 5 years. This one was bought with that in mind. Manufacturer has been contacted several times. Twice through Amazon, once by phone. No help..

I got 99 problems, but ice ain't one!
I bought this as we seem to always be in need of extra ice since we bought the fancy french door refrigerator with the ice maker in the door. What they don't tell you when you buy one of those beasts is that the ice maker in them is tiny. We live on the water and spend a lot of time in our boat, so we're always lugging coolers to the local ice place and buying bulk bags. No longer!! This thing CRANKS out the ice and, even though I've only owned it for a week, I don't know how I ever lived without it. I've filled three 20 pound bags and placed two of them in our chest freezer and the other in our fridge for when the fridge can't keep up.I bought the two year service plan on it just in case, and will update the review every 6 months or when appropriate.

Buy a different brand ice maker
At first when I hooked up the ice maker it was working as expected, after about a month it continually jammed, stopped making ice. I need to frequently turn it off, wait a day and turn it back on. It may make a half a tray/container of per day but when I first started it was to full tray/container. If I could return it I would. There is no ice obstruction so that isn't the reason, it randomly fills throughout the day but it doesn't live up to what the manufacture says. I would purchase a product from a different make.
