He opened with "The Good Things In Life
I attended a Tony Bennett concert in Dallas around 1983; he sang with a big orchestra. He opened with "The Good Things In Life."Listening to the album (I had an album in the 80's which I lost) brought back memories of that night.

~Tony Bennett masterpiece~please issue on CD!
Tony Bennett is a legendary great who has been turning out classics since the 50's and is still going strong decades later! After years of great success at Columbia, Tony Bennett signed to MGM in 1972 for what turned out to be a very short stint, tremendous label debut "The Good Things In Life" finds the legendary singing wonder in stellar vocal form with magnificent arrangements by Robert Farnon, awesome title Anthony Newley gem is a soulful soaring classic by Mr. Bennett being one of his finest majestic vocal performances ever. By the early seventies when this masterpiece was released, radio quite stupidly no longer felt it was "cool" to program a great singer with a great song, so this masterpiece sadly slipped through the cracks and definitely not for lack of quality, radio foolishly just didn't rise to the occasion of programing this magnificent singer and his great MGM output...great singers floundered during this era losing recording contracts, unfortunately the Music Industry never recovered from this musically bleak period, great singers on the radio since have sadly pretty much became a rarity. Mr. Bennett in remarkable form throughout a superb mix of songs, making all standards definitive performances, my all time favorite Tony Bennett album beyond a doubt! After leaving MGM due to lack of radio support, the legendary singer made amazing Jazz influenced albums on his own Improv Records to great success then later with wildly successful sold-out concerts, Tony Bennett smartly resigned to Columbia Records continuing with great success for decades, still recording successfully in to his eighties...this incredible classic needs to be issued on Compact Disc for his vast audience to savor and enjoy, hopefully with bonus tracks from these amazing sessions! Bravo Tony Bennett and keep on those amazing classics coming!

Must have classic
Top 5 album of Tony's classic style. End of a Love Affair is worth the price of the whole album.
