Light kit that has been obsoleted by the manufacturer
I bought this light for a Sony Rear Projection TV several years ago. The TV was already about 15 years old, and not surprisingly, was no longer supported by Sony. However, the TV continued to work well, so I continued to obtain new light fixtures to replace each burned-out one. I ended up giving away the TV when I upgraded to an OLED set, and still had the replacement light to pass to the person who received the Sony TV. The Philips Replacement Lights were excellent and lasted about 2 years under high use.

The lamp seems to be an original Philips lamp module for my vintaged SXRD Projection TV
The lamp can on time and it was packaged securely. It was easy to install and it is working fine. I'm very happy with the supplier and the quality of the product.

Don't Get Taken By This Seller
I ordered a Sony XL-5200 Replacement Lamp from Lamp Monsters through Amazon and was very disappointed. The delivered product was not as advertised and not as defined in their picture which shows a plastic and metal connection bracket (more on that below). They may provide some consumers with a real Philips lamp like my sister and brother-in-law last year, but I wasn't one of them and they may not have anymore Philips products. Inside the shipping container I did not find a Philips box, but a generic brown one stating "Made in Mexico". There was also a paper, obviously run through a cheap copier, attempting to explain the differences in the product contained in the box and the original Philips replacement lamps, and why the product was repackaged. First, I made sure to photograph the entire event of opening the box, removal of the inside box, removal of the lamp with housing, and inspection. After first noting that the connector was separated from the housing I read the enclosed paper, noting another discrepancy where the stamping on the outside of the lamp didn't match the paper's explanation. This made me considerably suspicious. As this will be my 4th lamp in the TV, I have some experience with the lamps, 2 of them being original Sony lamps which cost around $250 and 1 Philips replacement lamp which had been adequately packaged in a Philips box.Fortunately, I have kept my old lamps for reference and am glad I did as I can make comparisons between the original lamps and knock-offs which many suppliers are now trying to sell on the market. My Sony KDS60A3000 is somewhat dated and this will be my 4th lamp, but other than lamps dying on me, it runs perfectly and want to continue its use.On the older Philips lamp with housing and both of the Sony lamps, the housing's connection bracket was made of hard plastic and metal rigidly securing it to the main housing body. Regarding the product delivered today, besides being packaged in a generic box, this seller's lamp housing connection bracket was made exclusively of cheap plastic including the screws and was broken away from the main housing body perhaps because a plastic bag was wrapped around the lamp and the open part of the bag then gathered together and stuffed between the main lamp housing and the connection bracket. Of course, if the bracket had been made of hard plastic and metal as the previous real Philips DLP lamp I had, this may not have occurred. Being an engineer, I note the little differences more than I would like and this is a bad sign. I can see where the housing may be molded and put together by a different manufacturer, but the change in quality of the connection bracket will perhaps cause a lot of problems in the future for those of us with this type of TV.I also contacted Philips about the replacement lamp and was told that they do not make these anymore and have not had them in their catalog for 6 months. They referred me to another company that they say handle the Philips XL-5200 replacement lamps and gave them the numbers on the lamps label attached to the lamp on the inside of the bracket. I was told that they did not recognize the alpha-numeric characters on the new replacement I had just received.I want to buy through Amazon as I shop here often and am disappointed vary rarely. I will return the defective product that appears to be a knock-off and look for another seller through the Amazon Store.

Works Perfectly
No real reason to review this product as it is a direct replacement bulb, and performs just like the original. This is the 3rd bulb I've used in 6 years and am very happy with its performance. It is especially nice to see the price drop bulb-after-bulb.I will say the the "middle bulb" I used (this one replaced it) did not last quite as long as the original Philips. Hopefully I'll get a few hundred more hours out of the Philips. I'm currently getting around 7,000 hours per bulb. I'll give it 5-stars since the price was right, it was delivered very fast, and it is a real Philips bulb as advertised. Of course you never know how long it will last but so far it's been great.

Not sure this is a true Phillips bulb
I have two, twelve year old Sony KDS-50A2000 TV sets and I have ordered more than half a dozen of these bulbs over the years. As I am always concerned that I am not receiving a factory OEM bulb, I retain the packaging from the original replacement bulb that I received direct from Sony. This item was shipped in a box with printed instructions on how to install and a label stating "Made in Mexico." None of the packaging on my other bulbs say "made in Mexico," in fact they all say "Made in USA with foreign components." There is a little blue sticker on the box that says Phillips and a sticker on the bulb with a Phillips model number. My other bulbs have a similar sticker on the bulb, although they are slightly different and the sticker is based neatly near the top of the bulb, while this one is crooked near the middle of the bulb. No where on the bulb or the housing does this bulb state that it is an XL5200, but the other bulbs do. Aside from that, it appears to be the same as an OEM bulb. After installation, it does not appear to have that same great brightness effect that the replacement of other bulbs has resulted in, immediately after changing the bulb. This replacement is for my kid's PS4 TV and I did not want to deal with a return and I am hoping that this is just a next gen bulb and will last the 2000 hours rated by the TV and will maintain similar performance. If the bulb does not last until the TV recommends replacement then Amazon will be getting a phone call referencing this review and I will be requesting a free replacement. I wish Amazon could do a better job verifying whether some of these products are as advertised and not allow knock offs to be sold on their site. Very frustrating.

Simple changeout, bright imagery
The changeout on the full assembly was less than 5 minutes, including cleaning up the inside of the compartment a little bit with a vac. It was nice not to have to mess with or worry about the bulb transfer by buying it in the housing already. What I didn't expect was how much I had lost in picture brightness and quality with the old bulb. The old bulb has lasted me nearly 7 years, but with the big game coming up this weekend and lots of friends coming over I wanted it to look good. I am amazed at how bright and vivid the colors are again. I will have to retweak my settings that have been slowly adjusted over the years to accomodate the original bulb. My .02 go with a brand name bulb instead of the worry and headache that can be involved if you choose some unknown unbranded product. You get what you pay for, and if you like your sports and movies - make the most of them with quality parts.
