Good Quality.
This is my 3rd Bear and Son knife and i think their one of the best knives on the market. It feels substantial in your hand, nice tight fitting blades. Just a nice looking knife.

Good knife
This is a good knife. I was a bit surprised because the photo used in the listing seems, at least to my eyes, Damascus or pattern-welded steel for the blades and the steel of my knife is neither of those.Nonetheless, it is a good knife and I am glad to add it to my collection and I am glad also that it is US made.

Not Damascus, Difficult to Open
The picture shows Damascus blades. That is not what was sent. Although two of the blades are difficult to open, they were usable. For the third blade, I needed to use pliers to get it open. It is better after 20 min of work with valve grinding paste, but still not great. I had hoped for more from a USA made knife.

A good EDC knife made in the USA
It's a USA-made pocket knife under 4" closed with stainless steel blades and a jigged and torched bone handle, made to resemble India stag antler. It's an excellent value for an American-made knife that you will use, but likely won't brag about. Overall, the knife feels rough and unfinished in your hand. It could have been buffed down a bit longer to smooth out some rough spots along the blade spines and around the nickel silver bolsters. The back springs have gaps. They used stainless steel liners and not the traditional brass. In the pics you will see that the back springs aren't flush when the sheepsfoot and spey blades are open. It is nicely flush when the main blade is open. The blades have a usable edge, but it is inconsistent. There are flat spots where the bevel varies. You can see it in the way the light reflects across the edge. I like the look of jigged torched bone. Mine is good enough for a using knife, but doesn't have visual appeal I hoped for. Overall, for the price , it's a good user and comes with the awareness that I am helping to keep an American knife company in business. We have lost so many legacy knife companies in the last 20 years, Imperial Schrade, Camillus, Colonial, Queen, and others. We need to support our knife makers here as much as we can. Bear will be one of the great ones, but they have a ways to go yet. Even the great ones, like Case, flub a few sometimes. I would buy this one again and I recommend it to anyone wanting a good knife to use or gift. If you want a stand out piece, this may not be the best option for you. Buy American and support Americans whenever you can.

Bear and Son stockman knife
I am very happy with the quality of this knife. I was looking for a knife that I could carry everyday, but with a touch of class to it. Some of the EDC knives out there have that extreme "tacticool" type look, but I really like the classic look and versatility of this knife. It is made with extremely solid construction, and high quality carbon steel for the blades. I was considering purchasing a Case knife (like my grandfather used to carry) but decided to try out Bear and Son since they are a bit of a lesser-known brand. At this price there really isn't any reason to not grab one of these. I'm sure collectors out there would like one of these for their collections, but I feel perfectly comfortable carrying this as a daily use knife. I've carried it for about a week now and so far it has done everything I have asked. Also, Bear and Son makes their knives in the USA. They are located in Jacksonville, AL.

Cheaply made
I liked the fact that I was buying a product that was locally made in Jacksonville Alabama. I was extremely disappointed in the quality and poor craftsmanship. The blades are very thin and you cant even read the Bear and Son logo on the blade. I promptly bought a Buck in the same size and configuration. The Buck is top notch!

A superior pocket knife
A well made, high quality pocket knife. The fit and finish is second to none and the materials used are the best. I will be buying other Bear & Son knives in the future.

Product not as desrcibed
The clip blade is only 2 3/4". not 3 3/4 inches!! They need to hire a new copy/technical writer. Otherwise, it is a fine knife made in this country. Not good practice to decieve customers.
