Thomy Delikatess Mayonnaise in Tube (200 G)

If you have never had the pleasure of dipping French fries in mayo OUTSIDE of the US, try this. I fell in love with this condiment living in Berlin, DE and I’m still buying it out here in New Mexico. My favorite potato condiment, but also so good on other items, like schnitzel. It just tastes so good.

Love this stuff! Oh MY GOD. I spent a year in Switzerland for college and lived on Thomy Delikatess Mayonnaise in Tube. This particular one is a bit different than the ones I used to have that had a flowered cover, and was a bit larger tube. But this is delicious, and makes for a grand conversation every time I bring it to the table in front of guests.It has been compared to various not appetizing bodily creams like A+D ;) but in all honesty, everyone who tried it liked it. Not suggesting you give up on Helmans Mayo, but for fun this is quite delicious to boot.Another interesting thing is since this is in a tube, it makes for a nice decorative tool, to add some look and presentation. Unlike containers and jars, this is so much easier to just spread around or create little drips of mayo.

I do not like mayonnaise. At least, I don't like MOST mayo. But I spend a lot of time in Europe where they enjoy mayonnaise on French fries. I thought it was weird, but crazily enough, it's tasty...mainly because the mayo is much better than the American versions. Even my husband, who actually gags when he bites into a sandwich with mayonnaise, likes European mayonnaise, particularly German brands. There's a little more "zing" to it than what we're used to in the States. I still buy American brands for things like potato salads, but I order two tubes of Thomy Delikatess Mayonnaise at least a couple of times a year to have on hand for dips, egg salad, and sandwiches. It's a bit expensive, but it's a nice indulgence!

The taste is rather thick and savory, not greasy or sour like typical mayo. Strong egg flavor and less oil makes this suitable for deep fried dish like fries - at least it's what they serve in Belgium.

I hadn't seen this product in the States since I came here in 1979 and I am thrilled to have finally found it. "Just mayonnaise!" you say. True, but the mayonnaise of my childhood, with a softer, fuller taste than any other one on the market! Unfortunately also very pricey, so my grandma's potato salad is out of the question at this point. I hope it will be available in a jar, like all the others, at an affordable price, in the future. I recommend trying it, because it will make a believer out of you.

Its a good ok mayo.but metal tint..tube won't allow you to finish all product there's no way to get it out of it andIts hard to squeeze because tube is all metal and all messed up i will not buy again absolutely not Its just a waste.Taste is ok.but nothijg like french so no for me.

My husband and I were stationed in Germany several years ago and loved the wonderful food over there. One of our favorites was French fries with this mayonnaise and of course pomme frise sauce. A friend of ours that we were stationed with told us about this mayonnaise and we had to give it a try both of us were really glad we did. It has a wonderful flavor and reminded us so much of Germany.The price is definitely an issue but for once in awhile splurge it is worth it.
